Template Selection

template selection
▪ SAP Cloud ALM is preloaded
with Task Templates from the
Activate Methodology
▪ Selection of the task template
is a critical step in the setup
▪ After a template has been
chosen it can be changed but
that will cause all task
instances from previous SAP

▪ Phase, Sprints , Milestones are directly

assigned to a Project
▪ Sprint and milestones show associated
phase based on date range
▪ When a timebox is assigned to a Task,
the end date of a timebox is set as due
date for the Task.

Flexible phase definitions

• You can add custom phases

• You can deactivate existing phases

• This action is reversible
• Deactivated phases do not show in
Analytics and Reporting
• In case a deactivated phase has no tasks
assigned , it disappears from Task list

• This team shows with a special icon

• This team is the only team that can

contain the role “Project Lead”

• This team can be renamed but can

not be deleted

• You can create any number of teams

• You can assign persons to team by

roles or by users

User Management

▪ SAP Cloud ALM offers a simplified user management

approach by using predefined authorization roles

▪ Project Admin: Assign users to projects and approve user

requests made by project lead
▪ User Admin: Add users and approve user requests made by
project lead
▪ Project Lead: Assign users to projects
▪ Project Member: Do not have user relevant authorizations
▪ Project Viewer: Only have display authorization for project
data
▪ User Viewer: Only have display authorization for users

Maintain Project Landscape

▪ Subscribed SAP S/4HANA Cloud and

SAP SuccessFactors tenants can be
assigned in the SAP Cloud ALM
Project Landscape by the
Administrator

▪ Project Members can use the project

landscape view to navigate to the
product tenant logon page

▪ Tenants can also be unassigned e.g

SAP SuccessFactors Learning is no
longer relevant to the project
