GE1- UNDERSTANDING THE SELF

LET’S ANALYZE!

1.How important is “physical beauty” for you as of the presence?

Physical beauty is essential nowadays because attractive people are treated far
better, have more friends, and are far more successful romantically and professionally
than other unattractive people. According to some, an attractive person appears
physically beautiful to others. Sometimes you may wonder why people value physical
attractiveness when it reveals so little about a person's true personality. One reason
that physical beauty is essential is that some people enjoy being around attractive
people because they are pleasing to the eye and because being around them makes
them feel good about themselves. Furthermore, attractiveness can imply high status,
and some unattractive people enjoy being around those who have it. Some argue that
being beautiful is a good stereotype, as it is with many others. Most physically attractive
people are more sociable, popular, and less lonely than less attractive people because
they have more confidence and status than unattractive people. These findings are
most likely the result of self-fulfilling prophecies, as people expect attractive people to
be friendly and warm. Because they want to be around them, they treat attractive
people more positively than unattractive people. However, as with most stereotypes,
our expectations about attractive and unattractive characteristics are much stronger
than the actual differences.
Everyone wants to look good. Everyone’s spends a significant amount of time
attempting to look their best. A handsome man or a beautiful woman is highly regarded
in today’s society.
2. What are those mental and physical ways to obtain a defined physical
beauty?
You are better off being attractive in this world. Attractive people are judged
more favorably, treated better, and given more leeway at all ages and in all walks of
life. In order to achieve physical beauty, people must consider mental and physical
ways to define beauty. Mental beauty is a person's level of thinking and emotional
energy reflected in their behavior.
Body structure, height, face cut, complexion, and other parameters or contributors to
physical beauty cannot be changed in a usual way after a certain age. The following are
physical definitions of beauty:
 Having a clear and white skin.
 Having a good shape of body.
 Having a good facial symmetry.

Physical beauty is a person's charm, defined as anything that appeals to another

person. Beauty is a unique term. After all, it cannot be defined precisely because
everyone has their perception of physical beauty.
3. Can an individual avoid criticism when he sets his/her own beauty
standard with his/her own looks and not someone’s beauty? Why? Why not?
They can, indeed, avoid it. As you can see, personal beauty standards are
nothing more than a set of behaviors. These behaviors are based on expectations you
have for yourself in various situations. Those who set high standards feel great about
themselves and others. Everyone has their definition of beauty, so others must learn to
respect each other's differences because everyone has created their own. Not because
others define beauty as having a great body structure, height, face cut, complexion,
and so on does not mean that people who do not meet those criteria should be judged
by those who have such high standards for defining beauty. Beauty is more than just
physical attractiveness; it also includes inner beauty. Inner beauty is as appealing as
outer beauty. Physical appearance can and does fade over time, which is often beyond
our control due to aging. However, what is on the inside, including a person's
personality, is something we can influence and does not have to fade or become jaded
over time.
It is so easy to criticize others and so difficult to give a single genuine
compliment to others. It is effortless to see yourself in a positive light while focusing on
the flaws of others. Never criticize others because everyone has flaws and their
standards of beauty.
4. When is the time to value consistency and empowerment talking about
beauty standards?
The time has come to value consistency and empowerment when discussing
beauty standards. Everyone has their own set of beauty expectations. Talking about
beauty standards today will awaken everyone to the true meaning of true beauty. Of
course, beauty is cultural. What one community admires may leave another cold or
even repulsed, and what one person finds irresistible may elicit a shrug from another.
Beauty is both personal and universal. There are international beauty queens and those
who have come to represent the norm. The beauty of giving yourself to others will
shine through your eyes and out of your face. True beauty is undeniably appealing to
those who appreciate and seek it. Live a beautiful life of giving and caring for others if
you want to attract beautiful people. Why are we discussing beauty now? Because more
people define beauty by adhering to their own sets of beauty standards, some
unattractive people will lose confidence and morale in society. Everyone will be more
productive if they do not judge beauty by their standards, and they will see themselves
as necessary, productive, effective, and beautiful. It does not matter what looks
someone has; it can be a part of their beauty. Inner beauty is found on the inside,
whereas outer beauty is found on the outside. It both gains some confidence in
someone's personality, no matter what.
5. With the present pandemic, how can someone view physical beauty?
When COVID-19 was held worldwide, everyone was locked down for months.
When there is a pandemic, everyone considers physical beauty extremely important.
Everyone in this time was concerned with having a great physically fit body and a great
immune system rather than having a great physical appearance because viruses are
deadly, and physical beauty is not as essential to deal with in these times. This deadly
virus attacked people with great facial appearance and body shape, so we now need a
physically fit body rather than physical beauty. Physical beauty will simply follow after
this pandemic because when everything returns to normal, beauty standards in every
workplace will again be considered.

On the other hand, many people were confined to their homes during the
lockdown and were not permitted to leave, even for routine outdoor exercise. As a
result, some are gaining weight and losing their attractive physique. When an excellent
physical shape is not maintained correctly, it significantly impacts physical beauty. Most
people who gain weight see themselves as unattractive because they are used to their
previous shape and look good having a great physically fit body, whereas others who
were slim and petite before gain weight during the lockdown period, some of them built
self-confidence because they believe that gaining weight will be an advantage for the
reason that they see their selves better and more attractive. There is more to it than
just gaining weight. This pandemic period is the ideal time for everyone to take good
care of their face and body to appear attractive. It is the time to have a great body
structure, height, face cut, complexion, etc. Nevertheless, most importantly, everyone
must maintain a physically fit body rather than focusing solely on physical beauty.
