A Report on the One Day Seminar
A session on the thoughts of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar regarding Indian democracy, constitutional
rights, and social justice was held on 12th July 2023]. The session aimed to shed light on
Ambedkar's visionary ideas and their relevance in contemporary Indian society. The esteemed
guests for the session were Professor C B Honnusidhartha, Ms. S Pratibha K.G.B. , Professor
Jeevan Kumar D and Dr. Rangaswamy D, who were experts in their respective domains.
Guest Profiles:
Professor Jeevan Kumar D: Professor D. Jeevan Kumar, Former Head of The Department of
Political Science, Bangalore University is a distinguished academician with expertise in Political
Science . He has authored several publications on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's ideas,speeches and their
impact on Indian society. Professor Kumar is known for his deep understanding of Ambedkar's
philosophy and its practical implications.
Dr. Rangaswamy D , Assistant Professor ,Karnataka State Law University gave us a highly
innteractive and informative session on Social Justice and Babasaheb's view on Social Justice.
He gave real-life examples to help us relate to his views.
Session Highlights:
Opening Remarks: The session commenced with an opening address by Professor C B
Honnusiddhartha who emphasized the importance of understanding Ambedkar's thoughts and
their continued relevance in contemporary India. Ms S. Prathibha explained the work and
contributions done by their institution in improving the conditions of the downtrodden classes.
Presentation by Professor Jeevan Kumar D: Professor Jeevan Kumar D delivered a
comprehensive presentation on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's vision for Indian democracy. He elaborated
on the principles of equality, justice, and inclusivity advocated by Ambedkar. Professor Kumar
highlighted the significance of Ambedkar's role in drafting the Indian Constitution and his
