3. Focus on ministry as time is more free.
Titus 2:3-5 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in
the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine,
but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women
to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure,
to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands,
so that no one will malign the word of God.
Psalm 92: 12-14 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they
will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD,
they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit
in old age, they will stay fresh and green.
Anna's Example
Luke 2:36-37 There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter
of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived
with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a
widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but
worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
4. God provides for us as we age.
Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he
who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will
sustain you and I will rescue you.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain
you; he will never let the righteous fall.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all
understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in ChristJesus.
