CAUTION!
Problems can occur while using non isolated ports because of the connection of the pins that
! have different potential. This may damage the ports. Be extra careful when external devices
are connected to the terminals of the control board, as the 0V terminals of the control board
and the GND in the RS232 terminal have the same potential.
NOTE! For RS232 communication a straight cable must be used. A cross-cable (zero modem cable)
doesn’t work.
CAUTION!
Cable Fault and Hardware issues detection is not handled in application. Only Communication
! failure message and time out shall be displayed.

4.1 Start up
EmoSoftCom always start with Normal user.
1. Scan Unit: On Click of scan unit button, User can perform auto scan operation
2. Add Unit: User can add unit manually on RS232, RS485 and TCP/IP port
3. Logged on as User Mode: On click of “Normal” or “Service” text user can changed the user Mode.
4. Language change: On Click of Language button, User can select any one language out of 10
supported languages.
Note!
Change user login is not applicable, when the oscilloscope is running (recording in-progress). User should
stop the recording and change the user mode.
1. Login Username: This application supports two user levels “Normal” and “Service”.
Service mode is Password protected.

On click of “Start Scan”: Application shall start scanning as per configuration settings, to check the
number of units connected. While Auto Scan Progress bar gives the information of the number of
devices found and percentage (%) of completion of Auto scanning.
Attention!
Auto scanning clears previous connected/disconnected devices.
!
Attention!
While the auto scan is in-progress, on click of “cancel” button, auto scanning will stop. “Load
! to Drive” will start only for Detected device.

• Default is 9600 bps
4. Data file selection:
• Automatic (Default):
As per AC Drives software version, Application selects the same version of CSV file or any lower
available version from CSV file folder.
a) When communication is started, Type is first requested. In the example below, the connected
unit responds “FDU”.
b) Secondly, Version is requested. In the example below, the connected unit responds “V4.20”.
c) EmoSoftCom3.0 creates a file name: unit + version + “.csv”.
Example: “FDU” + “V4.20” + “.csv” = “[Link]”
d) EmoSoftCom3.0 searches in the actual directory for the created file name
If, for some reason, the file doesn’t exist, the data file has to be selected manually. This is done by
clicking the radio button Manual and by click on the button Browse. A file selection window
appears.
• Manual:
Using Browse button user shall select the path of higher or lower version of available CSV file.

• If users select the Trigger type as “Falling”, user can enter only the low value and the
high value will be disabled.
• If users select the Trigger type as “Both”, User can enter the High and low value.
Trigger can generate if selected signal cross the any threshold value (High or Low).
Capture Time (Delta Time): User shall enter MM (minute) and SS (second) capture time before
and after start of trigger point using dropdown option.
Before Time: Data for the specified time before the occurrence of trigger
After Time: Data from the start of the trigger to the specified time.
Total waveform capture time = Before Time + After Time
If signal levels cross the threshold, recording will start. Recording stop after completion of set time.
Recorded wave form shall be stored in TRIGGER folder in application path. User can load the
Trigger file for offline analysis, same as record file.
Trigger indication shall blink (Red and Gray LED) in oscilloscope view, So that user will get the
