Aim:

course content and their ability to work in groups and solve problems related to phonetics and
phonology. The project consists of the following stages:

Phase 1: Prepare for the project

- Find an English-majored or non-English majored student, preferably 1st year or second year student who
has pronunciation problems. Students can also choose themselves as the subject for their project.

- Record a video to introduce the student and the make a short conversation with him/her in English. If
you choose yourself as the subject for the project, give an impromptu speech on a specific question or
task for at least two minutes long. From this conversation, identify the exact pronunciation problems that
he/she has (pronunciation of individual phoneme, word stress, sentence stress….).

- Give possible explanation for having these pronunciation issues

Phase 2:

- Propose solutions or a plan (with specific timeline and actions/activities) to help the subject to overcome
their pronunciation problems.
- State how the subject progressed by each point of the time line. Include the evidence to justify what was
conducted (video of subject being trained or correct pronunciation mistakes, exercises, hand outs to
name a few)
- Report how the subject progressed in the end compared to the beginning of the semester (also include
evidence

- Describe the difficulties you might have encountered, and how the difficulties had been overcome and
the lesson you learn from the experience
- The whole project should be written in essay form of at least 1000 words in length ( not incuding the
appendix)

Phase 3:

- Upload all the files to google drive and share the link with the lecturer
- Make sure that the link is accessible for the lecturer until the score is released.
- Apart from videos, all the related material should be in word form so as for plagiarism checking
- Set these word document files in narrow margins, Times New Roman 12 font, and 1.5 line and
paragraph spacing.

code, assignment title, course team leader’s name
