1. Delhi Mtero enjoys a top ranking place among the metros of the world. The ride is easy,
comfortable, fast and convenient. Some young boys have been seen to violate the rules
by jumping the queue, entering the ladies' compartment, playing loud music, etc. Write
an article in 150-200 words to be delivered in the morning assembly on the need to
observe metro manners. You are Albert/Christine. (CBSE 2023)
Observing Metro Manners
Delhi Metro opens a new chapter in providing a fast and convenient travel in the National
Capital Region. Actually Delhi Metro enjoys a top ranking place among the metros of the
world. The ride is easy, comfortable, fast and convenient. What can you ask for more? The
distance between the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the New Delhi Railway Station
is covered just in 18 minutes! And that too in most reasonable fare. We have adopted a new
and convenient Metro but not changed our attitude and behaviour. For many young boys the
Metro provides an occasion for creating chaos and inconvenience. They can be seen violating
the rules by jumping the queue. Not only that. They don't leave the seats reserved for ladies,
senior citizens and physically challenged persons. The most disgusting and shocking violations
occur when they enter the ladies' compartment. Some play a loud music and create a great
nuisance. It is quite shameful that we don't observe metro manners. With a little more discipline
and observance of rules, we can add to the ease, convenience and comfort of Metro travel. Let's
help in the smooth and comfortable running of one of the best metros of the world. No doubt,
public awareness is needed. But authorities shouldn't sit idle. Take action against the defaulters.
Let them not spoil the comfort and convenience of the metro travellers
Word Notes
Convenient: Comfortable, Defaulters: a person who fails to fulfil a duty
