Chopp pattern

Introduction
Thank you for downloading this pattern, all you are going to need is:
Chenille yarn in 4 colors !
Color A (light brown) for the body and face
Color B (dark red) for the shorts
Color C (pink) for the hat
Color D (dark brown) for the antlers
The corresponding crochet hook. For my part, I used a 6mm crochet hook.
Fiber fill for the stuffing.
Safety eyes or some kind of paper to cut the eyes, and some white
paper to cut the cross on the hat.
Abbreviations
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet (US) - double crochet (UK)
Ss – slip stitch
Dc - double crochet (US) - treble crochet (UK)
Inc - increase
Dec – decrease
Instructions
Head
Color A
Row 1: 6sc in mr (6)
Row 2: inc*6 (12)
Row 3: (sc, inc) *6 (18)
Row 4: (2sc, inc)*6 (24)
Row 5: (3sc, inc)*6 (30)
Row 6: (4sc, inc)*6 (36)
Row 7: (5sc, inc)*6 (42)
Row 8 - 12: 42sc (42)
Row 13: (5sc, dec)*6 (36)
Row 14: (4sc, dec)*6 (30)
Row 15: (3sc, dec)*6 (24)
If you want to use safety eyes, I would recommend for you to place
them now, between row 8 and 9, or anywhere you think is best !
Row 16: (2sc, dec)*6 (18)
Leave a long tail for sewing and fill the head with stuffing.
If you want to use paper eyes, you can cut two pair of circles : one
larger in white (mine is approximately 2.7cm in diameter - 1.06in).
One smaller in black (mine is approximately 2.2cm in diameter -
0.86in).
You can glue the eyes on row 8/9 approximately as well.
Legs & body
Color A

Row 1: 6sc in mr (6) leg 2 !
Row 2: inc*6 (12) Row 1: 6sc in mr (6)
Row 3 - 4: 12sc (12) Row 2: inc*6 (12)
Change to color B Row 3 - 4: 12sc (12)
Row 5: 11sc, inc (13) Change to color B
Cut the yarn. Row 5: 11sc, inc, chain 2.
No need for a long tail. DO NOT cut the yarn.
make leg 2
Attatch the other leg with a sc.
Row 6: (1sc to attatch the leg, then) 12sc in leg, 2sc in chain, 13sc in leg,
2sc in other side of the chain (30)
Row 7: (4sc, inc)*6 (36)
Row 8 - 10: 36sc
Change back to color A
Row 11: blo (4sc, dec)*6 (30)
Row 12 - 13: 30sc
Row 14: (3sc, dec)*6 (24)
Row 15 - 16: 24sc
Row 17: (2sc, dec)*6 (18)
Cut the yarn. No need for a long tail.
Fill the body with stuffing and sew the head to the body.
Arms
Color A
Row 1: 6sc in mr (6)
Row 2-6: 6sc
Leave a long tail for sewing. You can sew the arms to both sides of
the body, on the same row where the head and body are sown
together.
Hat
Color C
Row 1: 6sc in mr (6)
Row 2: inc*6 (12)
Row 3: inc*12 (24)
Row 4: (3sc, inc)*6 (30)
Row 5: (4sc, inc)*6 (36)
Row 6: (5sc, inc)*6 (42)
Row 7: (6sc, inc)*6 (48)
Row 8: blo (6sc, dec)*6(42)
Row 9-16: 42sc - 8 rounds
Row 17: flo (3sc, inc) *10, 2sc (52)
Row 18: (4sc, inc)*10, 2sc (62)
Row 19: (5sc, inc)*10, 2sc (72)
Fill the hat very lightly.
Attach the hat to head above the eyes by sewing the back loop
(between row 16 and 17) to the head using another string of yarn.
You can then cut in white paper the cross (mine is approximately
5.5cm in diameter - 2.16in), and glue it to the front of the hat
between row 9 and 14.
Antlers x2
Color D
Row 1: 6sc in mr
Row 2-13: 6sc
Leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the antlers in a "U" shape to both
sides of the hat, starting and ending on row 8.
Ears x2
Color A
Row 1: 6sc in mr
Row 2: inc*6 (12)
Pinch the ear like the second above picture.
Leave a long tail for sewing, and sew the ears just below the
antlers.
Final touch
Sew some facial expressions using black regular yarn. You can refer
to a picture of the character for accuracy.
