BASICS OF GOOD
01
PHOTOGRAPHY
Your photos and visual content are what your
followers encounter right away. Well-designed
profile with carefully chosen colors, style, and
photos instantly captures attention.
Before diving into how to POSE, we
should discuss how to DO photos.
Because no matter how fantastic
your pose is... if the angle, the
lighting, the framing, the camera
settings, or anything else isn't right,
you won't achieve the outcomes you
want. So, let's begin with the basic
things!
@DIANADILOYANN 01
LIGHTING
When shooting indoors, switch off all overhead
lights and lamps. Utilize natural window light, if
available. Position yourself with the light source
directly to the left or right, and have your
camera directly opposite to you. Then, turn
your body slightly towards the light source.
WINDOW
@DIANADILOYANN 02
For close-up portraits (covering half of the body
or closer), position the camera at shoulder
height or eye level. For full-body shots, lower the
camera to waist height or even lower while
looking up at the subject. You can certainly
experiment with these angles, but these
guidelines provide a solid starting point.

02 RULE OF THIRDS
The rule of thirds in photography is a simple
way to improve the composition of your
photos. Imagine dividing your photo into 9
equal parts with two vertical and two
horizontal lines, creating a grid.
The idea is to place the main subjects or
interesting elements near the intersections
of these lines or along the lines, rather than
in the center. This makes photos more
dynamic and appealing.
IF YOU HAVE A PERSON IN THE PHOTO,
CONSIDER PLACING THEIR FACE OR
EYES NEAR ONE OF THE VERTICAL LINES

03 THE POSING TIPS
Now, we've come to the most challenging
part - POSING. Many of us are afraid of this
aspect because we often don't feel
photogenic and dislike ourselves in photos.
But I'll share my secrets with you because I've
been a professional model for over 7 years.
3 MAIN SECRETS:
Prepare for the photoshoot in advance:
look for examples on Pinterest and try to
replicate them in front of a mirror.
Play your favorite playlist during the
shoot.
Release tension in your body: shake your
hands and legs, and rotate your head. It
might sound funny, but it really works.

POSTURE
The first rule of a beautiful photo is a regal
posture! Stand up straight, pulling up from
the base of your spine. Now, roll your
shoulders back and down. Imagine drawing
your shoulder blades together.

WHAT TO DO WITH
HANDS IN PHOTOS?
Many people try to hide them behind their
hair or in pockets, but when posing, it's
important to remember that your hands
shouldn't be tightly pressed against your
body, as it makes you look heavier and
visually enlarges the triceps.
DO NOT hide your wrists! Lightly touch your
body with them, as if you're caressing it.
DON'T clench your hands into fists and avoid
forming straight lines.
DON'T point both hands at your waist or
shoulders. One hand should always be
slightly lower or higher than the other!

ADJUST YOUR
BALANCE
Try to shift your weight slightly to one leg,
and bump one hip to the side or back. This
creates a curved line to their silhouette,
enhancing that hourglass shape.
DON'T BE AFRAID TO MOVE YOUR HIPS
AND SHIFT YOUR WEIGHT FROM ONE
LEG TO THE OTHER
@DIANADILOYANN 08
EYES
Keep your eyes in
the same direction
as your nose; follow
the rule that your
eyes should be
looking where your
nose is pointing.
Try to raise your
eyebrows slightly to
partially open your
eyelids, as this will
make your gaze
appear more open.
@DIANADILOYANN 09
LIPS
The key secret of all photo models: they
breathe through their mouth during shoots,
which means their lips are always relaxed and
slightly open.

LEGS IN THE FRAME
When posing, it's important to consider three
simple yet crucial rules:
To make your legs appear longer, extend
one of them forward.
Angle the toes diagonally away from the
camera.
Shift your weight onto one hip
IF YOUR FEET ARE VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO,
POINT YOUR TOES OR PLACE YOUR WEIGHT ON
THE BALLS OF YOUR FEET. THIS ELONGATES
THE LEGS AND ADDS A TOUCH OF GRACE.
