Street/local market

In Viet Nam the streets are the main place for shopping mainly in cities and
towns as they attract a huge crowd. I live in capital of Viet Nam - Ha Noi city,
and there are plenty of street markets in every place. I often go to these markets
to shop. The street market is situated in Phung Khoang which is a place in Ha
Noi. I have to walk nearly 1 km to reach the Phung Khoang street market from
my house. This street market is lively during mornings and evenings. This area
is really crowded on working days and during evenings the streets are filled
with people returning home after work. So people buy a lot of things from here
before they take their train or bus home..Each shop in the street sells different
kinds of things. There are shops that sell toys, dresses, accessories and
household items. There are other shops that sell snacks and sweets and stalls
that make food. This street market is famous for the variety of clothings they
sell. People can come here to buy supplies for their house. The things are sold at
a much cheaper price than we get in supermarkets and malls. For me this is a
daily go-to place for grocery shopping.

Life in the city

Life in the city is very different from that of the countryside. Firstly, the people
here are very sociable, willing to help others. In the city it is very bustling,
people are busy on the street. Secondly, during the day, there are many vehicles
running on the road. Occasionally, you will meet students standing at the bus
stop waiting for the bus to arrive. Every day everyone has a job of their own.
Wholesale shops have started to open in preparation for the upcoming day.
However, Items such as food, vegetables, and fruits in the city are more
expensive than in the countryside. In the afternoon, elderly people go jogging in
parks or lakes. In the evening, people rushed home, on the road there was
congestion, the noise of the traffic. The air becomes seriously polluted due to
the exhaust from vehicles. At night, the street lights have started to turn on. You
will find a lot of nightlife here. People gather to go to a sidewalk pub, bar,
cinema or a stroll. Thirdly, this city has changed a lot in the last 10 years.
Roads, hospitals and schools are much more modern and comfortable. Next,
space becomes narrower, more houses grow. However, the security in the city is
not safe compared to the countryside. Finally, maybe I will find myself adapting
to the bustling environment in the city. Because I hate tranquility, it always
makes me feel lonely. I plan to live longer in this place.

My mother/ admire person

I am going to talk about my mother who has played an essential role in my life.
She is my guardian, my friend, and my role model. My mother is in her forties
now, but she still maintains a youthful look. In terms of personality, she is an
extremely compassionate and kind-hearted person who always takes care of her
children. She really is a mother and a friend to me as she always gives me
valuable advice and is willing to stand by me through all the ups and downs of
my life. Although sometimes she drives me crazy due to her being a
perfectionist, I still hold so much pride and respect for her.I am also influenced
by her strong will. Ever since she was young, she had to learn to be independent
as my grandparents were very busy and constantly on the go. She had to take
care of almost everything: her younger brother, household chores and herself.
Such challenges shaped her into the strong person that she is now.Her
determination, as well as her perseverance, are really something for us to look
up to. And I keep reminding myself every day to be as strong as my mother, a
real-life “wonder woman.”

English class/ a letter

Dear Kate,
How are you ? I hope you’re well. Where is you studying now ? How is your
new university ? I have some good news. This time I’m writing to tell you about
my english class.
I’m studying English at Academy of cryptography teachniques where have a
good education for me to improve my skill. My university located in Thanh Trì
district and I have to spend fifteen minutes to arrive my school everyday.I’m
start school at 12:30 P.M and finish school at 3:00 P.M. I study at school in 3
hours from Monday to Friday. My class have fourty students and they are all
friendly. I have a group with three people, who willing help me when I have
problems. We also go out together in freetime. I have to learn four subjects
including speaking writting, listening & reading, which will improve my
English. At my school, I like breaktimes because Ican meet and talk with my
friend. My teacher who is teaching me English is very nice and friendly. She
speaks English very well! I enjoy my English lessons, especially the
pronounciation practice. I’m not very good at English, but I hope to improve the
language.

Memorable summer
Last summer, I went to Cua lo with my family. We went there by car, it is very
far from my house, it is about 400 km, so we were very tired, but at one we felt
better when we saw the sea. Cua lo beach is really interesting, the beach is very
large, flat, and it has a lot of sand. Waves are very strong, you will be very
excited when you play with it. There are a lot of beauty spots, and good seafood
there. We stayed in Binh Minh hotel. It was a very nice and comfortable hotel,
it’s also rather near the sea. The weather was hot and sunny all day. The sea was
cool and clear, because it was very windy in the afternoon. We went swimming
twice a day. My children was excited about it. The food was extremely
delicious but not very expensive. We took a lot of Photographs of the sea,
bought a lot of seafood especially octopus, and some sea presents for our
relatives. After a week in Cua lo beach, we felt happy and stronger. We hope to
go there again.

Dream jobs
One of my dream jobs is to become an engineer. I consider myself a tech-savvy
person who I’m fascinated by working with computers and technologies. Well,
what an engineer would do is design and maintain structures of a variety of
machines as well as their data systems. I would say that excellent technicians
tend to have an eye for detail. You know, a minor error can lead to malfunction
and mess up the whole system of a machine. Therefore, I have always been
conscious to mitigate the high risks of malfunction. Furthermore, engineers
need to use scientific and mathematical knowledge to solve technical problems.
That’s why technicians’ personalities are pretty straightforward and transparent.
Not only do they apply what they know in the working process, but also in
solving problems in real life in an efficient way. Working with technologies
aside, I can also earn a lot of money as this is a financially rewarding career.
This helps me cover my living expenses and save some money for a rainy day.
Moreover, I can expand my social circle with other excellent workmates in the
field.

Your favorite room

My parents often say that my room is the messiest place in the house, but it is
also my favorite spot. My bedroom is on the second floor. It is not exactly a
large room. But I have lived there since I was a child. The walls in the room are
painted a bright white color, and my mother always complains and makes me
clean whenever there is dirt or stain on them. It have a bed in the middle of the
room. In front of a large window is the study table and also where I put the
computer, on the shelf there are a lot of comics, science fiction films beside all
of my textbooks. In the corner of the room is a small wardrobe, I do not have
too much clothes so that is where I put my backpack, bags as well as many
other things. And there is a mirror besides the wardrobe so I can look at myself
every time I get dress. There is a door leading to our balcony. The thing I like
most is the balcony looking over a small garden where I and my grandparent
planted many flowers. Because of the window and door, there is plenty of light
and fresh air, which made it a very nice place to work and sleep. Although the
room seems simple and not always in a neat condition, I had lots of great
memories there. It is still the place I was looking forward to returning after a
long and tired day.

Best friend/ soutmate

Hello everyone, my name is Hang. I’m 19 year old and I come from Ha Noi. I
just finished my freshman year and became a sophomore at the Academy of
Cryptography Techniques. I always play badminton at the weekend. My
hobbies are cooking and reading books. Some of the favorite books are science
fiction, detective, history and art. My strengths are innovative and intelligent.
But sometimes I can lose my calm and become either angry or sad. In the
future, I want to improve my communication skills and work more hard to
pursue a dream of travelling around the world with my family. I have numerous
friends, but Quynh Anh is my soulmate. I’ve known her since we were kids. We
have grown and studied together. Now we are studying at the same university.
Quynh Anh has a short black hair and a lovely plump face. She enjoys
socializing. Everybody adores her. When I had a trouble with my math class,
she stayed up late with me every night for a week to help me study for my math
test. Besides our studies, she is constantly by my side when I feel not good. We
confide in each other. I can tell her everything and only she knows my actual
sentiments. Overall, she is a wonderful friend whom I will always cherish. I
hope we can be friends forever.

Famous film star/ actor

To begin with, I have to admit that I am a huge fan of the Hollywood film
industry and I hardly ever miss any Hollywood blockbuster. And my all-time
favorite actor is Ryan Reynolds, a renowned Canadian-American actor who has
starred in multiple top-grossing movies.
Well, his full name is Ryan Rodney Reynolds and he is probably in his forties
now but he looks much younger than his real age. He is married to actress Blake
Lively, a beautiful actress starring in the famous series Gossip Girl. He began
his acting in the early 1990s and rose to stardom in 2016 through the movie
Deadpool, in which he played the title character. The movie set numerous
records and earned him many nominations. You know, he was even awarded a
star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where I would definitely check in if I
ever had a chance to travel to California.
Unlike most of his fans, I first noticed him when he was playing in The
Proposal and became his fan after watching the movie Blade: Trinity, in which
he acted as Hannibal King. He usually acts in comedies and drama and his
acting really varies and simply excellent. On top of that, I can’t help laughing
every time he posts something on his social media accounts because he has such
a great sense of humour.
I find him a very charming actor and a superb human being with his hard work
in social welfare work together with his wife.

(Dad, I’am sorry) created a box office fever in Vietnam. The film had revenue
of more than 400 billion VND and 5.3 million tickets sold after one month of
release. Not only good at acting, but Tran Thanh is also a rich person with
affection and kindness. With his innate speaking ability along with extensive
knowledge combined with humorous speech, Tran Thanh has become the
richest artist in showbiz, with extremely numerous book shows. Currently, Tran
Thanh is married to Hari Won. This couple is being loved by a lot of people. I
really love Tran Thanh and I will always watch and cheer for this talented actor.

Well, there's a photo in my collection that holds a special place in my heart and
never fails to bring a smile to my face. This photo was taken a few years ago
during a spontaneous trip to the countryside with my closest friends. The setting
of the photo is a picturesque meadow on a sunny day. The sky is a brilliant blue,

Favourite book
I would like to tell you about the book called Harry Potter, which is a fantasy
novel, written by the British author J. K. Rowling. It’s one that I can reread time
and time again. The book describes the life of a young wizard named Harry
Potter and his two best friends, Ron and Hermione. Harry has to struggle to kill
the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort, whose aim is to become immortal and destroy
all those who stand in his way of ruling the world. The reason why this book
comes to mind is that it is a reminder of my childhood. It was a gift for my
birthday from my parents to reward my high score in an exam at school. Up
until now, I can still remember clearly how fascinated I was when I received it.
Thanks to this book, I realized that determination and effort play essential roles
in achieving my goals. Since then, I have always worked hard to overcome all
obstacles and challenges in my life. Harry Potter will always be on my to-read
list for a number of reasons. Firstly, I have always been a great admirer of
science fiction books so I love the way that the author describes the whole
magical world with the magic school, Hogwarts, and the flying brooms.
Secondly, reading this book not only helps me to relax after a long day of work
or study but also cheers me up whenever I am feeling blue.

Perfect house/ dream house

Since I work near the center of Hanoi, it would be great to have an apartment
located there so that I could commute to work more quickly and conveniently. I
would like to have my dream home in a residential area in the center of this
capital, which not only helps me save time traveling every day but also live
close to many amenities such as big supermarkets, gym clubs or prestigious
universities. As I’m really into a cozy place, I expect it would be a spacious
house consisting of three bedrooms, one kitchen room, one bathroom, one living
room. From my perspective, this is perfect for a family including my husband,
two children and me. Additionally, I want to have a garden on the balcony
where I can grow various types of roses and take care of them in my leisure
time. When the roses are in bloom, they will give off a pleasant smell and
decorate my house beautifully. Last but not least, I prefer a fully furnished
house with cutting-edge household appliances such as refrigerators, vacuum
cleaners, dishwashers and washing machines because they might reduce the
manual labor after I come home from work. To me, I always dream of having
my own apartment like this because this can allow me to have more freedom to
do whatever I want and I will make my dream house become a reality as soon as
possible.

… Moreover, street food can be found on the main street and down many of the
side streets and alleyways. You can try some of the most popular foods in
Hanoi, such as noodles, rolled cake,… However, one of the main downsides of
my hometown is traffic jams during rush hour. I love my hometown very much
because it is not just an interesting place to live. If you ask me why I want to
continue staying in this city, there is more than just 1 reason, but I’ll make it
brief. Our people are very friendly, enthusiastic, and always willing to help each
other. Since I lived here, I have been taught a lot of important lessons. Not only
about academic knowledge but about also soft skills, behavior, and
communication. I am truly glad to be here because I get the opportunity to
access various amenities as well as because this place is where I was born and
raised and where my family settled.

My university is the Academy of Cryptography Techniques, which is famous
for information security. One thing that makes my academy special is that you
can meet both modern and classical teaching styles. Besides many introductory
subjects like math, physic, or philosophy, you can see a lot of modern
specialiᴢed subjects. Moreover, street food can be found in the main canteen,
nearby restaurants, and convenience stores. You can try some of the most
popular foods in Hanoi, such as noodles, rolled cake,… However, one of the
main downsides of my academy is traffic jams during rush hour. I love my
academy very much because it is not just an interesting place to live. If you ask
me why I want to continue studying at my academy, there is more than just 1
reason, but I’ll make it brief. Our students are very friendly, enthusiastic, and
always willing to help each other. Since I studied here, I have been taught a lot
of important lessons. Not only about academic knowledge but also about soft
skills, behavior, and communication. I am truly glad to be a KMAer, not only
because I get the opportunity to learn many things but also because this place is
where I met my friend and my love.

Ha Noi city
I came to Hanoi on an autumn day, and my first feeling was the feeling of a
peaceful space, not like in Ho Chi Minh City. That feeling was overwhelming
all my soul when I was walking along Nguyen Du Street and enjoying the Milk
flower. Why was it so beautiful here? In the early winter night, in slightly cold
spread hoarfrost, sitting on the bank of Thien Quang Lake, whether at the other
side, I still smelt its perfume. I walked along the street and dropped myself in a
sweet smell of Milk flower, the wind blew my hair, and I felt so great.
Milk flower on the streets of Hanoi goes deeply inside the memories of Hanoi
people and all visistors who have come to Hanoi. It also goes into the music, the
poetry, movies. Those are some good ways to introduce Milk flower to
everybody. For me, means of communication such as internet or TV are the best
ways to introduce Milk flower for all over the world. It is simple when everyone
looks at all wonderful pictures or images of Milk flower, they will want to come
and enjoy it. In Japan, they have cherry blossom, in Netherlands, they have
tulip…How can we know about it? That is all thanks to means of
communication. We must let them know that in Hanoi, we have Milk flower.
Therefore, the things we need to do now are we should have a website about
Milk Flower with pictures, clips, songs, poetry in many languages (if we can)…
or we can hold more activities which relate to Milk flower. We must have some
more activities to advertise this kind of flower. That was what I think when I
saw Milk flower for the first time.
I love Hanoi. I love the early cold winter nights with Milk flower’s smell. I
hope Milk flowers will be grown more on Hanoi streets. Milk flower is a
precious gift that nature gives to us, especially to Hanoi, our beloved capital.

Favourite TV show
Olympia is one of my favorite TV show. This is a television knowledge contest
for high school students. It is always shown on VTV 3 at 13 o'clock every
Sunday. Candidates are the best students in the country. MC is quite charming
and beautiful lady. The program also has a team of consultants who are
experienced teachers. In the program, there are 4 competitions, which in turn is
the start, the obstacle, accelerate and the goal. Every competition is very
interesting and exciting, it requires students not only knowledge from books but
also social knowledge. Contestants do not only have knowledge but also must
have both brave and self-confidence. The students, parents go cheer for the
contestants are very enthusias. In the contestants, competitor that I most is Lam
Vu Tuan, he is very talented and funny. My biggest dream is to study well and
paripate in the program compete for knowledge.

Favourite sport
There are many sports, which are good for our health and popular over the
world. Soccer is one of my favorite sports. It is played by two teams consisting
of 11 people each team. The general rule is that the ball is kicked by leg and the
players get score when having the ball in their goal post. Football is known as
“king” among other sports. First, it improves integrity when applying several
techniques to create strong power. Second, it not only reduces stress and bad
cholesterol of body but also relaxes out spirit after a hard working day. My
brother usually plays football every afternoon after work as he is in a local sport
club. Moreover, football is not simply one kind of sport, it is an art because of
the popularity. Since there is an increasing number of football team over the
world such as: Manchester United, Barcelona, Arsenal with professional
players. Although I am not able to play well, I love watching football matches
as they are interesting and we can also learn from their technique. Furthermore,
football is public concern as well as heated debate. Football is now popular
through women, who are thought not able to play this kind of sport.

Taylor Swift
Every day I have chance to watch different famous people shine and bring
inspiration to others on TV; however, the one that inspires me the most is
Taylor Swift. She is a typical example of a strong, intelligent and independent
woman. She used to be a small girl who had been bullied throughout the school
years. However, she overcame all the difficulties to become one of the most
successful singer and composer of America. She challenges herself in different
types of music, from Country, Ballad to Pop, and all of her songs carry deep
meanings. Most people can find themselves in her lyrics and her melodies.
Besides her singing career, she is also a businesswoman who has her own
enterprises and brand names. She had tried so hard in her youth to achieve the
things that I always dream of; therefore, she is a great symbol that I always look
up. Taylor Swift is forever my beloved idol, and her effort is the goal for me to
never quit trying.

Favourite comics
Doraemon is a super famous comic book series that most children in all over the
world know. The story of the books is about a robot cat from the future coming
back to the past to help a miserable life of a small boy. That boy is Nobita who
is known as a slow and clumsy boy. They have been through thrilling
adventures together. Doraemon has a small pocket on his belly which is a magic
pocket that can contain countless things. He stores all of his gadgets from the
future in that belly, and helps Nobita to overcome the difficulties in his life.
Besides Nobita and Doraemon, the characters of the books also have other
friends of Nobita such as Shizuka, Takeshi, Suneo, Doremi, Dekisugi and
others. The comic is not only for entertainment, but also for teaching many
valuable lessons about life. After reading it, we can know how to cherish
friendship, protect the environment, and try to stay away from bad things.
Doraemon is my favorite book, and I think there are a lot of children out there
who also love it.

Favourite film
As a big fan of romantic movies, one of the best movies I have ever seen is
“Titanic”, which was directed by James Cameron. This is one of the most
successful movies ever. It got 11 Oscars. Actors Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate
Winslet who played the main parts became world stars. This movie appeared on
the screen in 1997 but it’s still unforgettable. The plot is based on a real event
that happened in 1912. On the 14th of April, the ship Titanic struck the iceberg
and then sank, killing about 1500 people. Rose, one of the passengers, was a
society woman who was moving to America with her mother and her fiance.
Her fiance was a harsh man who wanted Rose to obey him in everything. So she
felt trapped and lost. But then suddenly she met a young artist named Jack. Jack
was poor, a social zero. But he was also charming, and energetic and he made
Rose feel free and happy. They fell in love very quickly and wanted to start
their new life together in America. But unfortunately, Jack died in the disaster.
That’s a very beautiful but tragic love story. It teaches us that love is stronger
than money, social status, and even death. Every time I watch it I cannot help
crying. I’d recommend this movie for everyone.

Activity in free time

In my free time, I enjoy engaging in various activities that help me relax and
unwind. One of my favorite pastimes is reading. I love getting lost in the pages
of a good book and immersing myself in different worlds and stories. Another
activity I enjoy is going for long walks in nature. It allows me to connect with
the beauty of the outdoors and clear my mind. Additionally, I find solace in
practicing yoga and meditation. These activities help me find inner peace and
maintain a healthy balance in life. Lastly, I also enjoy spending quality time
with my loved ones, whether it's having a movie night at home or going out for
a nice meal together. Overall, my free time activities are a mix of solitary and
social pursuits that bring me joy and fulfillment.

Your hometown
My hometown is Hanoi capital. Hanoi is where I was born and raised. It is
located in the north of Vietnam. The city is both traditional and modern. There
are many ancient places such as the 36 Streets of Hanoi Old Quarter, One Pillar
Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake, … Everyone can come here and enjoy the beauty of
the places. There are also many high and modern buildings and big shopping
centers and amusement parks. Hanoians are friendly and welcoming. They are
always ready to help others. Another Hanoi’s specialty is the traffic jam. More
and more people have moved here from all over the country to find higher-
salary jobs. During the rush hours, it is hard to travel. However, many foreign
tourists see traffic congestion in Hanoi as an experience and enjoyment. I hope
to contribute to develop my homeland in the future.
