TDS AntiFoam

Efka® PB 2020 is a silicone-free defoaming agent that eliminates foaming and blistering in solvent-based coatings regardless of how air bubbles are introduced. It is a clear, slightly yellowish liquid with a shelf life of up to 4 years when stored properly. Efka® PB 2020 is particularly suitable for nitrocellulose lacquers, acid-curable wood finishes, polyurethane lacquers, and cold-cured epoxy resin systems and can be added at concentrations of 0.1-0.7% of the total formulation.

Efka® PB 2020 accelerates defoaming in solvent-based coatings. It


therefore eliminates foaming and blistering, regardless of whether the
air bubbles are caused by the substrate, e.g., wood or paper or as a
result of pumping, rolling, flooding or airless spraying.

Application

Efka® PB 2020 is particularly suitable for the following applications:

 nitrocellulose lacquers and acid-curable wood finishes, especially


those applied by curtain coating
 two-pack polyurethane lacquers which are applied by spraying or
brushing
 cold-cured epoxy resin systems

recommended concentrations 0.1–0.7% on total formulation

As a defoaming agent, Efka® PB 2020 can be incorporated prior to


processing. If added subsequently, good dispersion should be ensured.
