LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 1
(THIRD QUARTER)
I- OBJECTIVES:
➢ Identify, name, and describe the four basic shapes (square,
rectangle, triangle, circle);
➢ Relate the shapes to the objects around you.
➢ Draw the four basic shapes

D- VALUES INTEGRATION: Taking good care of oneself.
III- PROCEDURE
A. Review
• Marione has 2 empty boxes and 12 pcs of mango. How many
mangoes each box will have?
B. Motivation:
Let the learners sing the “shapes song” using a video
presentation.
What is the song all about?
What are the shapes mentioned in the song?
C. Lesson Proper

2. Discussion

Are you familiar with this pictures?
Look at this foods. Which of the following should we eat often? Why? If you
are given a chance to choose what to eat among them, which of the following
you like the most?
Guessing Game
We have names for the shapes of the food we eat. We call them basic shapes.
Let us identify and draw in the air the four basic shapes.
➢ I have 2 equal sides and 4 corners. Can you guess what they call me?
➢ My shape is unlike my friend SQUARE. I have 3 sides. My sides may not be
the same length. They call me TRIANGLE.
➢ Look at me, somehow, I look like my friend SQUARE because I also have 4
corners and 4 sides. But unlike the square, my sides are not all equal. Each
pair of opposite sides are equal length. I am called RECTANGLE.
➢ I am also a shape. Unlike my three friends, I have no corners and I am round.
Does anybody know me?
Other examples of objects with different shapes:
Look around your classroom. Can you see some objects with different shapes?
Can you tell me the object and its shape?
Do you think that shapes is very important? Why?
3. Application
➢ Group Activity
Pupils will be group into 3.
Give the general directions for group activity. Each group will be given
instructions for their assigned task.
• Group 1 –Draw and write the names of the four basic shapes.
• Group 2 – Classify the objects, and paste it to
its corresponding shape.
• Group 3 – Color the part of the house according to its shape.

4. Generalization
The four basic shapes are triangle, square, rectangle, and circle. All four basic
shapes are flat. They are called plane figures.
Shapes are very important, because all objects has its own shape.
IV- Evaluation
Encircle the right object based on the shape given.
