CREATED TO WORSHIP

(By Pastor Jesse V. Valenzuela)

Rev 4:8 - Rev 4:11 (KJV),

"And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they
rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for
ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him
that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to
receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and
were created."

Worship 1. The reverent love and allegiance accorded a deity, idol or sacred object 2. Ardent, humble
devotion. Worth + ship = worship. The value you place on the object of your worship or taking Him or it
at face value/apparent significance (Webster's II New Riverside University Dictionary).

The Holy Scriptures tell us that the very reason why God created all things is for His pleasure. Rev 4:11
(KJV),
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and
for thy pleasure they are and were created."

God takes pleasure in His creation. We read in the book of Genesis that when "God saw everything that
He had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Genesis 1:31). Who said that the creation was very good?
God himself! Very good things make us happy and delighted. They give us pleasure! Don't you dare say
that God doesn't know how to appreciate good stuff and that He is not capable of displaying emotions
when looking at good things because our display of emotions are just reflections of His emotions. I do
believe God has a sense of humor, only it's wholesome and pure.

Our God appreciates and He takes pleasure in the glory of His own handiwork. Ps 19:1 (NLT),
"The heavens tell of the glory of God. The skies display his marvelous craftsmanship." Ps 8:1 - Ps 8:3
(NLT),
"O LORD, our LORD, the majesty of your name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You
have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise. They silence your enemies who were seeking
revenge. When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you
have set in place."

But the greatest pleasure of God is the worship of His creatures that are free moral agents, men and
angels alike! Worship is an act of the will. True worship could never forced on you. The object of your
worship could never have it unless you give it wholeheartedly to Him or to it. God's throne is surrounded
with worship. Rev 4:8 (KJV),
"And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they
rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come." I
do believe that their worship is spontaneous, it's self generated worship; because to God, actions or
words of worship without the foundation of a conscious choice is not worship at all! 1Chr 16:28 - 1Chr
16:29 (KJV),
"Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the
LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the
beauty of holiness." Worship is a command!

Worship is an act of the will. David said in Ps 34:1 - Ps 34:3 (KJV),

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her

1
boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us
exalt his name together."

The object or objects of worship are called God or gods. People who don't know the real God worship
false gods. Many people worship Mary the mother of Jesus, calling her "mother of God," elevating her
higher than God Himself. We know the t this is a gross error. Satan is also worshipped by Satanists. In
the Bible he is called "the god of this world." Our belly can also be a god. Phil 3:19 (KJV)"
"Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly
things." But worship must only be given to the Almighty God! Worship is giving God the preeminence.
He is above all others. He is number one in our hearts. He is the first recourse and not the last.

Worship, in order to be real must be connected to these essentials:

Love - Mk 12:29 - Mk 12:30 (KJV),

"And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one
Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment."

Obedience - Lk 6:46 (KJV),

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

Trust - Pr 3:5 - Pr 3:6 (KJV),

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Holiness - 1Chr 16:29 (KJV),

"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the
LORD in the beauty of holiness."

Rom 12:1 - Rom 12:2 (KJV),

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be
ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God."

Sacrifice - Gen 22:1 - Gen 22:5 (KJV),

"And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and
he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and
get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains
which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of
his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and
went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and
saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the
lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you."

Service - Mt 4:10 (KJV),

"Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,
and him only shalt thou serve."

GESTURES OF WORSHIP

Saying with a Voice (Revelation 4:8; 5:11-13; 19:1-6). A very quiet church scares me; even the Holy
Ghost is not welcome in it.

2
Falling Down Before Him and Saying (Revelation 4:10-11; 5:14).

Singing and Playing With Instruments (Revelation 5:8-9; Psalm 150).

Lifting Up of Hands (I Timothy 2:8).

Clapping of Hands (Psalm 47:1)

Dancing Before Him (2 Samuel 6:16)

Worship is inviting God in our midst. He inhabits the worship of His people. We enthrone Him in our
midst when we worship!

Cursing is inviting the presence of demons in our midst. Spirit of the glass, spiritism, sensual rock music,
and many fleshly activities, they all invite the devils in our midst; but real worship and praise invite the
presence of God! You can Him into your situations, just worship Him (James 5:13).

There are times when other other people are not welcome into our situations and if we welcome them
they do havoc instead of helping fix the situations. But you can always invite God into your situations
and He will come and will fix everthing that needs to be fixed.

We are created to worship. Jeff Arnold said, "All folks worship because God put it in our natures to be
worshippers. It is the reason we were created. We were created by the will of God for His pleasure, and
God receives pleasure from people who worship Him."

YOU ARE A WORSHIPPER AND YOU ARE GOD'S PLEASURE.
