ADVANCE GENESIS EQUIPMENT

PAINTING PROCEDURE

Workplace Area: Paint Shop

1. SAFETY FIRST
1 Ensure the forklift is in a well-ventilated area 1
2 Wear necessary PPE: gloves, safety glasses, and a mask. 2

2. CLEANING
1 Clean forklift surfaces by removing dirt, grease, and oil using a pressure washer or hose. 1
2 Use a degreaser to clean stubborn grease and oil spots. 2

2 Remove any rust or corrosion using a wire brush or sandpaper.

4. SAND AND SCUFF
1 Use sandpaper or a sanding block to scuff the existing paint surface.

5. FILLING AND SANDING
1 Apply primer to the entire forklift surface for a smooth base before painting.

6. FINAL CLEANING

7. PAINTING

2 Allow the primer to dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions.

8. DRYING AND CURING


1 Allow the final coat of paint to dry completely.
2 Follow the recommended curing time before putting the forklift back into service.

9. INSPECT FOR TOUCH UPS


1 After full curing, check for any needed touch-ups or additional coats on the forklift.

10. REMOVE MASKING


1 After full curing, check for any touch-up or additional coats needed on the forklift.

11. FINAL INSPECTION

safety standards.
