Introducing the New HIGH CHIEF Hydraulic Pump


The Pilot Chief was designed originally for operation on Automatic Lubrication Systems for the SL1
injectors (average running pressure of 2800 psi), progressive systems & dual line systems. It was
designed with the concept of taking the hydraulics off the Pilot circuit of the off-road vehicles. This has
worked very successfully through these years. However in more recent times the demands upon the
Pilot Chief are now changing.

Firstly we see that the mining sector is now putting these pumps into more demanding lubrication
systems such as higher cycle rates, higher hydraulic oil temperatures and pressures. To meet these
needs the hydraulics to run the Pilot Chief is now being taken off the main hydraulic system which can
in turn transmits damaging peak transient pressures back through the hydraulics.

Secondly Lincoln has introduced the high operating pressure (6000 psi) SLV injector and the SLV-XL
injector (larger SLV injector). The Pilot Chief is not capable of operating these injectors at their
maximum pressures therefore another hydraulic pump is required to enable high pressure SLV systems
to be installed.

To meet these changing market needs, higher transient pressures, higher cycle rates & higher
temperatures plus higher operating pressures to meet Lincoln’s new range of SLV injectors, JSG is
proud to announce that the Pilot Chief pump will now be immediately replaced by a new JSG hydraulic
pump called the High Chief hydraulic pump. Stocks should be available towards the end of next week.
All current orders for Pilot Chiefs will be converted to High Chiefs at the Pilot Chief prices.

The High Chief pump is designed to work in an environment which sees these transient pressures and
is capable of operating SLV injectors at their maximum operating pressures.
