Role: Senior Data Engineer
Position Overview: Persistence Recruitment in collaboration with Jawraa, a
leading Saudi Digital Transformation company, is seeking a Senior Data
Engineer. You will be instrumental in supporting the client, Saudi Arabia’s
Public Investment Fund's Sovereign Fund Culture and Tourism Destination
Giga-Project, based in Riyadh. This role requires expertise in AWS and SAP,
along with proficiency in Data Integration and Data Platforms.
Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture Design: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and
efficient data architectures and solutions to meet the project's
requirements, leveraging AWS and SAP technologies.
2. Data Integration: Implement data integration pipelines and workflows
to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into
centralized data platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and
consistency.
3. Data Modeling: Design and implement data models and schemas to
support analytical and reporting needs, optimizing data structures for
performance and scalability.
4. Data Platform Management: Manage and administer data platforms
and databases on AWS and SAP, including configuration, tuning,
monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and
reliability.
5. Data Warehousing: Develop and maintain data warehousing solutions
to store and organize large volumes of structured and unstructured
data, facilitating data analysis and reporting.
6. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional
teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to
understand data requirements, gather feedback, and deliver solutions
that meet business needs.
7. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and
support to junior data engineers and other team members, fostering a
culture of continuous learning and innovation.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Document data engineering
processes, best practices, and technical specifications, and prepare
regular reports and presentations to communicate project status, key
milestones, and achievements to stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a
related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
2. Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on AWS and SAP
technologies.
3. Strong proficiency in data integration tools and techniques, such as
Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, AWS Glue, SAP Data Services, and SAP
HANA.
4. Experience with data modeling, schema design, and optimization
techniques for relational and non-relational databases, such as Amazon
Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SAP BW.
5. Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS
services (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, Lambda, IAM)
and SAP solutions (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA).
6. Proficiency in programming languages used in data engineering, such as
Python, Scala, SQL, and Shell scripting.
7. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management,
and data security principles and practices.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data
issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
10.AWS and SAP certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics -
Specialty, SAP Certified Technology Associate) are desirable.
