RXN Type Running Tool

The "RXN" type running tool is used to set various lock mandrels in the top of their respective landing nipples, and can be run either selectively or non-selectively with keys in the retracted or locating position. It is normally used to set safety valves in the upper most nipple and will set the first lock mandrel it encounters of a given size. The tool comes in various outer diameter, fishing neck outer diameter, and nipple inner diameter configurations.

“RXN” TYPE RUNNING TOOL

Application:

• The “RXN” type running tool is used to set “X”, “XN”, “R”,
“RN”, “RNT” and “RQ” lock mandrels.

Features:

• Can be run either selective or non–selective

• Snap ring indicates positive setting of lock

Operation:

The “RXN” type running tool is used to set various lock mandrels
in the top of their respective landing nipples. This tool is
normally used to set safety valves in the upper most nipple. No-
go locks are run with the keys in the retracted position. When a
non-no-go locking mandrel is run, the keys must be in the
locating position and the lock is set in the first nipple of that size
it comes to.
