II. RATIONALE
Values Month is a dedicated time to focus on the importance of values and to promote our practice in everyday lives. It is an
opportunity to reflect on our own values, to learn about the values of others, and to identify ways to strengthen our values-based
actions.
In today's fast-paced and ever-changing world, it is more important than ever to instill strong values in our communities
because values provide a foundation for ethical decision-making, positive relationships, and a sense of purpose in life.
The DepEd Mission, Vision and Core Values focused on the holistic development of the learners for them to properly
respond to different life situations.
DepEd Order No. 166, s. 2018, mandates schools to join in the celebration of the National Observance of the Filipino Values
Month pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 479 dated October 25, 1994, declaring the month of November every year as
Filipino Values Month and this year’s theme is “Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos,
Makatao, Makakalikasan at Makabansa”.
In response, Dumalneg National High School participates in the program's realization of its goals, particularly the restoration
of proper behavior and manners in both the home and the classroom to achieve the holistic development of students through a variety
of activities for parents, students, and teachers. Parents need to be reminded of their responsibilities as guardians and knowledgeable
about the latest challenges affecting young people. The ability to self-regulate moral norms and judgments will enable students to
instill virtue in their daily lives.
