Hello, my friend!
I am incredibly happy to see you! Maybe you've already
read my previous message to you in my first Cuddly
Nessie Monster pattern-learning. But if not, I am glad to
meet you for the first time!
I really want us to make this world more magical
together! That's why I created this additional pattern to
the main Nessie’s pattern-learning. And I called this
addition very simply - Moon & Star.
I want to note that this is not full pattern on how to create
Nessie Monster! This is an addition to my main first
pattern-learning!
(By the way, the pattern-learning is also in my Etsy)
Here I will share with you how I create two Nessie
designs: Lunar and Starry. Specifically, we will learn how
to crochet two options for Nessie's tail. I will also share
felt patterns and show you how to create them!
So which Nessie design would you choose? I suggest you
do both! And more of them! This world just needs more
Nessie to hug! I believe in you!
SO, ARE YOU READY TO GO AGAIN
ON ANOTHER JOURNEY OF CROCHETING TOGETHER?
WHAT WILL BE IN THIS ADDITION TO THE PATTERN?

How to crochet the PERFECT Star?
IMPORTANT
I was crocheting this star, so I came up with this idea.
That's why there will be a lot of text description, photos
and some videos here, because I want to explain
everything in detail. Here you can see the whole process
of crocheting the star - [Link]
You can do it now. Or later by reading the description of
crocheting a star. And in any case, you can watch this
video at any time. Because with this video, I hope,
everything will be clearer!
Start crocheting with rays for a star
Ray for a star (make 5 details)
1 row: 2 ch, in the second chain from the hook - 6 sc (6)
or
1 row: 6 sc in mr (6)
IMPORTANT
I do it this way because it's more comfortable for me. You
can do it the way you know how to crochet. But from
now in the pattern I will write like this - 2 ch, in the
second chain from the hook … sc. BUT it’s the same that
… sc in mr.
So here we put a thread of a contrasting color (next -
thread-marker) to mark the beginning of the row.
2 row: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3 (9)
3 row: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 3 (12)
4 row: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 3 (15)
ATTENTION
With four rays, we do this:
Cut the thread. Hide the end of the thread inside the
detail.
On fifth ray - we do NOT cut the thread.
And continue crocheting on the fifth detail (photos of
these processes on the next page):
5 row: crochet on the fifth ray - 7 sc (7)
6 row: Now we're going to attach all the rays together.
Attach the fifth detail to the other detail with 1 sc (we
crochet the first sc into the last loop that we crocheted on
the ray that we will attach). Put a marker for the
beginning of the row here. Now crochet 6 more sc on the
same detail. Attach the next ray with 1 sc. And then 6
more sc on the same ray. Again attach the next ray with
1 sc. And then 6 more sc on the same detail. This is the
fourth ray. Now we attach the last ray in the same way
with 1 sc. And then 6 more sc on this detail (35)
7 row: Now we need to connect all the rays together (it
will look like a circle of rays) (photos of these processes
bellow).
HOW?
Count 7 sc on the ray and put marker here, then crochet
1 sc. This was the first sc in this row. Next, crochet 4 more
sc and make 1 dec. And then - (5 sc, 1 dec) x 4 (30)
8 row: 2 sc, 1 dec, (4 sc, 1 dec) x 4, 2 sc (25)
9 row: (3 sc, 1 dec) x 5 (20)
10 row: 1 sc, 1 dec, (2 sc, 1 dec) x 4, 1 sc (15)
11 row: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 5 (10)
Cut the thread. Close with flo, hide the loose ends on the
opposite side of the star and fasten the thread.
ATTENTION
Don't forget to fasten all the threads from the star rays
inside.
Now we start crocheting on the other side of the star.
1 row: Put a marker on the place where we will attach the
thread. And attach the thread. Make 1 ch. Then 1 sc in the
same loop, then 7 sc in the next 7 loops on this ray. And
so on for each ray we crochet 8 sc (40)
Do not forget to fasten thread that we are attach.
2 row: crochet 1 sc to connect the last ray and the first
one ray. This will be the first sc of this row, then 2 sc,
1 dec, (6 sc, 1 dec) x 4, 3 sc (35)
3 row: (5 sc, 1 dec) x 5 (30)
4 row: (3 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (24)
Fill the star with stuffing. Do not fill a star completely.
5 row: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 8 (16)
6 row: 8 dec (8)
Fill the star with stuffing fully.
Cutting the thread. But leave a very long tail! Why? I'll tell
you in a moment! Close with flo, fasten the thread.
SO now we need close between the rays of our star! Put
the needle between any of the holes between the rays.
Close as you want. Tighten it up. And sew each next hole
between the rays of the star in the same way. Tighten.
Fasten the thread. And hide the loose ends inside the
star!
This is what the star we created with you looks like!

1 row: 8 sc (8)
So here we put a thread-marker to mark the beginning of
the row.
2 row: 8 inc (16)
3 row: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 8 (24)
4 row: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 8 (32)
5 row: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 16 (48)
We stretch our detail a little bit to make it more flat.
BEFORE AND AFTER stretching the detail
6 row: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 12 (60)
7 row: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 15 (75)
We stretch our detail a little bit again to make it more flat.
Fold the detail in half and crochet 37 or 38 sc across to
close the moon.
HOW?
Hook in the first loop and the last loop. This is the first sc.
Next, hook into the second loop and before the last loop.
This is the second sc. And so on with all loops.
In the middle of the process of crocheting our moon in
half, we fill it with stuffing. We don't fill it completely. We
continue to crochet our moon in half almost to the end.
And fill it again, but to the fullest.
In total, there should be 37 or 38 sc that will crochet the
moon in half. Pull out thread! Fasten. Hide the loose
ends.
Look at the moon we created!
