1-5. Install the writing software WS1, WS2 and WS3 and device driver of USB-
RS232C conversion cable UT3 to PC UT8.

[!] FM-ONE UT1-1 requires that the software files are stored in Compact
Flash card UT1-2. The files for ADNCT2, UD-100 (Flash) and UD-100
(FPGA) do not need to store in Compact Flash card UT1-2.
[!] FM-ONE UT1-1 can manage maximum 10 of software at once.
Therefore, do not store more than 10 of software in Compact Flash
card UT1-2.
[!] Do not take the software files out from its folder.
[!] Do not change their folder/file names.
Max 10 software
1) Unpack the received “zip file”, one data folder will be made on disk-drive of
PC in automatically. The software files are stored in that data folder.
2) Insert certainly the Compact Flash card UT1-2 into FM-ONE UT1-1.
3) Connect FM-ONE UT1-1 to PC by USB cable UT1-5.
4) The Compact Flash card UT1-2 should be
recognized as one of disk-drive on explorer of
windows, and FM-ONE UT1-1 shows operation
mode as shown right picture.
5) Delete unnecessary folders/files from the disk-drive of Compact Flash card
UT1-2 by explorer of windows.
[!] FM-ONE UT1-1 supports only FAT12/FAT16 file system. Do not format
the Compact Flash card UT1-2 by other file system.
6) Copy the software files by whole data folder to the disk-drive of Compact
Flash card UT1-2 by explorer of windows.
7) Execute safe disconnection for the disk-drive of
Compact Flash card UT1-2, FM-ONE UT1-1
shows operation mode as shown right picture, and
then disconnect USB cable UT1-5.

2-6. Confirm that the FM-ONE turned OFF, and then disconnect the cable of FM-
ONE from HCCPU PWB.
!! CAUTION !!
Don’t disconnect the cable until turned OFF the power
of autopilot and FM-ONE. The pwb and FM-ONE will be
damaged.
(5) The software version number (public) is displayed. The private version number is
displayed by pressing MENU switch.

6-2. Connect USB-RS232C conversion cable UT2 and RS232C-TTL conversion cable

(6) Some messages with software version will be indicated on the terminal
software screen like as below. Confirm that the version number which you
wrote is indicating here.
(8) Set the switch [S2] to [NOR] and set dip-switch SW2-8 to [OFF].

The back cover and pwb designs may be different on each
model. In this manual, instruct by 2nd model of UD-100.

!! CAUTION !!
The power and some serial signal lines will be kept active
even if the UD-100 was turned OFF.

A red LED on the UD-100 pwb turns ON during pressing POWER.
After UD-100 turned ON, the LED should keep ON.

9-1.13. Confirm that the FM-ONE turned OFF, and then disconnect the cable of FM-
ONE from UD-100.
!! CAUTION !!
Don’t disconnect the cable until turned OFF the power
of UD-100 and FM-ONE. The pwb and FM-ONE will be
damaged.
(4) Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)
(6) If all updating for UD-100 finished, close the back cover, re-mount UD-100 to
steering stand/console and then re-connect all disconnected cables.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
[1] This software updating will take approx 1hour.
Please make consideration for the continuously supplying
power for UD-100 and PC during the updating.
In addition, please stop the function of screen-saver, power-
saving and/or the like to protect against the sleeping/shutting-
off the writing software/operating system and the suspending
serial/USB port.
[2] This software contains only graphic data, does not have
version number to identify its revisions.
After updating, please open all menus to confirm the no
defect in indicating graphics as much as possible.
9-2.2. Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)
CAUTION!!
The power and some serial signal lines will be kept active
even if the UD-100 was turned OFF.
Open the
back cover.
9-2.6. To connect the interconnection cable UT5, push the plug for data writing into
the CN5 connector and take a cable out from the back cover. In addition, set
the dipsw3-5 to “ON”.

(2) Click the [Hardware Setup] on left upper of above display, and then the following
display appears. Set the parameter of “Currently selected of hardware” to
“USB-Blaster [USB-0]” then close this display.
(5) Select the data file (FP_*****.pof), and then click [Open].
(10) Click “Start” to start data writing. The progress is indicated on right upper
corner of display.
It will take
approx 2~3 min
(11) The progress bar indicates “100% (Successful)” when finished data writing.
At the moment, the POWER button of UD-100 panel does not function.
Therefore, disconnect the J1 connector or turn OFF the power supply
of UD-100.
(4) Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)
(6) If all updating for UD-100 finished, close the back cover, re-mount UD-100 to
steering stand/console and then re-connect all disconnected cables.
