RS232C conversion cable UT3 to PC UT8.

1-6. Distribution of the software

The software for PR-9000 is customized to optional function and

specification of each vessel.
However, all of spare pwb in stock will be installed standard software.
Therefore, in any case of replacement the pwb, please ask TOKYO
KEIKI before onboard about applicable software for target pwb/vessel.

The each software should be composed of several files.

These files are stored into one data folder and then be packed to one “zip file”.
The name of these folder and zip file are conformed to the name/function of
each pwb and version number.
Refer to below sample and table for detail.

1-7. Store the software file of target pwb in Compact Flash card of FM-ONE

[!] FM-ONE UT1-1 requires that the software files are stored in Compact
Flash card UT1-2. The files for ADNCT2, UD-100 (Flash) and UD-100
(FPGA) do not need to store in Compact Flash card UT1-2.
[!] FM-ONE UT1-1 can manage maximum 10 of software at once.
Therefore, do not store more than 10 of software in Compact Flash
card UT1-2.
[!] Do not take the software files out from its folder.
[!] Do not change their folder/file names.

Max 10 software

1) Unpack the received “zip file”, one data folder will be made on disk-drive of
PC in automatically. The software files are stored in that data folder.
2) Insert certainly the Compact Flash card UT1-2 into FM-ONE UT1-1.
3) Connect FM-ONE UT1-1 to PC by USB cable UT1-5.
4) The Compact Flash card UT1-2 should be
recognized as one of disk-drive on explorer of
windows, and FM-ONE UT1-1 shows operation
mode as shown right picture.
5) Delete unnecessary folders/files from the disk-drive of Compact Flash card
UT1-2 by explorer of windows.
[!] FM-ONE UT1-1 supports only FAT12/FAT16 file system. Do not format
the Compact Flash card UT1-2 by other file system.
6) Copy the software files by whole data folder to the disk-drive of Compact
Flash card UT1-2 by explorer of windows.
7) Execute safe disconnection for the disk-drive of
Compact Flash card UT1-2, FM-ONE UT1-1
shows operation mode as shown right picture, and
then disconnect USB cable UT1-5.

1) The power supply of FM-ONE UT1-1

FM-ONE UT1-1 does not have power switch, it differs in behavior according to
power source as below.
a. UT1-3 : Always turns ON
b. UT1-4 : Synchronize the power of target pwb

2) Warning of FM-ONE UT1-1 at first writing

When FM-ONE UT1-1 turns ON, if “FM-ONE.INI” as

initial file does not exist in Compact Flash card UT1-2,
a warning message “Can’t open INI file”
should appear as shown right picture.
Push any key at this warning, “FM-ONE.INI” will be generated automatically and
then goes to normal display.

3) Internal parameter

Sometime the internal parameter of service menu will be

initialized by sofware updating.
Therefore, “before” updating, all internal parameter must be
written down in the datasheet or be taken picture of all screen
at service menu.
After updating, verify all internal parameter with its record.

2-5. Turn the system switch to OFF.

2-6. Confirm that the FM-ONE turned OFF, and then disconnect the cable of FM-
ONE from HCCPU PWB.

!! CAUTION !!
Don’t disconnect the cable until turned OFF the power
of autopilot and FM-ONE. The pwb and FM-ONE will be
damaged.

from HIFCPU PWB.

!! CAUTION !!
Don’t disconnect the cable until turned OFF the power
of autopilot and FM-ONE. The pwb and FM-ONE will be
damaged.

9. Software update of UD-100

Notice
The back cover and pwb designs may be different on each
model. In this manual, instruct by 2nd model of UD-100.

9-1. Software update of UD-100 (CPU)

9-1.1. Turn the system switch to OFF.

9-1.2. Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)

9-1.3. Disconnect all cables/connectors from UD-100.

!! CAUTION !!
The power and some serial signal lines will be kept active
even if the UD-100 was turned OFF.

9-1.4. Dismount/remove the UD-100 from steering stand/console.

9-1.5. Open the back cover of UD-100.

9-1.6. To connect the interconnection cable UT5, push the plug for data writing into
the CN5 connector and take a cable out from the back cover.

Push the plug as red marked side to

be hidden. See right upper picture.

9-1.8. Connect the cable UT1-6 between FM-ONE and interconnection cable UT5.

9-1.9. Connect the power supply to UD-100 by either 1) or 2).

1) Connect the original cables to connector/terminal and then turn ON the
gyrocompass.
2) Connect the external power supply (24VDC) to TB1 -4[0V] / -5[+24].

9-1.10. Turn ON the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)

At the moment, any display and key illumination should not appear
even if UD-100 turns ON.
A red LED on the UD-100 pwb turns ON during pressing POWER.
After UD-100 turned ON, the LED should keep ON.
If the LED turns OFF after release POWER, re-try turning ON the UD-100.

Confirm that a red

LED lights ON.

9-1.12. Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)
[!] Confirm that the LED on UD-100 pwb turns OFF.

9-1.13. Confirm that the FM-ONE turned OFF, and then disconnect the cable of FM-
ONE from UD-100.

!! CAUTION !!
Don’t disconnect the cable until turned OFF the power
of UD-100 and FM-ONE. The pwb and FM-ONE will be
damaged.

[Confirmation of version number]

9-1.14. Confirm the displaying software version as follows.
(1) Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)

(2) Press POWER + SET/ENT switch of UD-100 for 3 seconds or more.

(3) Confirm version number (FW Ver ****).

(4) Turn OFF the UD-100. (Press POWER for 3 seconds or more.)

(5) Disconnect all cables/connectors from UD-100.

(6) If all updating for UD-100 finished, close the back cover, re-mount UD-100 to
steering stand/console and then re-connect all disconnected cables.

9-2. Software update of UD-100 (Flash ROM)

IMPORTANT NOTICE
[1] This software updating will take approx 1hour.
Please make consideration for the continuously supplying
power for UD-100 and PC during the updating.
In addition, please stop the function of screen-saver, power-
saving and/or the like to protect against the sleeping/shutting-
off the writing software/operating system and the suspending
serial/USB port.
[2] This software contains only graphic data, does not have
version number to identify its revisions.
After updating, please open all menus to confirm the no
defect in indicating graphics as much as possible.

9-2.8. Connect PC with UD-100.

9-2.9. Connect the power supply to UD-100 by either 1) or 2).

1) Connect the original cables to connector/terminal and then turn ON the
gyrocompass.
2) Connect the external power supply (24VDC) to TB1 -4[0V] / -5[+24].

9-2.11. Start and set “TKY01_send.exe” WS2 as below.

(1) Set the parameters of COM port

[COM port]: Set as per PC

provided for USB-RS232C
conversion cable.

[Baud rate]: 115200

[Parity check]: None

[Stop bit]: 1

(2) Select the data file from [File] – [Open macro file] menu (FL_*****.txt).
It will take
approx 2min File loading completed

dipsw3-8 to “ON”.

9-3.6. Data writing steps

(1) Start “Quartus Prime Programmer” WS3.

(2) Click the [Hardware Setup] on left upper of above display, and then the following
display appears. Set the parameter of “Currently selected of hardware” to
“USB-Blaster [USB-0]” then close this display.

(3) Set the parameter of “Mode” to “Active Serial Programming”.

(4) Click [Add File] on left middle of display.

(5) Select the data file (FP_*****.pof), and then click [Open].

(6) After selected the data file, following display appears.

(7) Click to check-mark on “Program/Configure”, “Verify” and “Blank-Check”.

(8) Connect the power supply to UD-100 by either 1) or 2).

1) Connect the original cables to connector/terminal and then turn ON the
gyrocompass.
2) Connect the external power supply (24VDC) to TB1 -4[0V] / -5[+24].

(9) Turn ON the UD-100. (Press POWER in one shot.)

Only at this item, the holding down POWER is not required to turn ON
the UD-100.
At the moment, any display and key illumination should not appear
even if UD-100 turns ON.
A red LED on the UD-100 pwb turns ON after pressing POWER.

Confirm that a red

LED lights ON.

(10) Click “Start” to start data writing. The progress is indicated on right upper
corner of display.

(11) The progress bar indicates “100% (Successful)” when finished data writing.

9-3.7. Turn OFF the power supply of UD-100.

At the moment, the POWER button of UD-100 panel does not function.
Therefore, disconnect the J1 connector or turn OFF the power supply
of UD-100.

9-3.8. Set the dipsw3-8 to “OFF”.
