The topic in itself sounds funny, why would anyone want to know ones car color.
Incidentally Car is seen from 4H which is the most ignored house among the current breed of
internet astrologers. 4H shows the Sukha (Happiness) & ones Fortune, which is the reason
traditional astrologer’s use 4th from any planet/house to test how the fortune of that house would be.
This concept is incidentally is often ignored by us but this scribe has seen it work consistently over a
period of years.

Why is a vehicle so important in our life, even the Rishis often wrote about yogas for
acquisition vehicles. It is assumed that if one has a vehicle/Car one is well off. Astrology is about
Turn Of Fortunes and Observations on turning of fortunes often reveals that the when we change
our house or alter something in the House (4H matter) or buy a Car/alter something in the car (4H
matters) our Fortune takes an upward or downward trend. In the present write we concentrate on
predicting the Car color one would have chosen for when buying a car, color therapy has been
downplayed in current Jyotish practices though Parasara has clearly stated that each planet and signs
have color thereby indicating that colors ACTIVATE the planets and signs & if it’s a bad choice it
affects our fortunes. The write up does not concentrate on - if a color is lucky but on the COLOR
CHOICE.

PVR Narasimha Rao has used a method of Narayana Dasa and Argalas combined with
Arudhas & Rasi aspects to demonstrate Car Color choice, it’s a lengthy method worth studying
though yet the scribe humbly feels we must try to find simpler methods which also must give definite
answers in atleast 80% of the cases for it to be fully called a successful method.

Bhrigu Method
There are many methods of progressions which are attributed to Sage Bhrigu but we do not have any
classics to authenticate it, out of one of those methods scribe has altered & adapted and created this
method which requires EXTENSIVE testing yet to be done. These progression methods are devoid
of Transit & Dasas as the scribe is made to understand and hence it becomes like one of those
simple yet beautiful village astrologer tools.

Method
1) Take D16 Shodamsa the requisite Divisional chart for Vehicles
2) See Placement of Venus the karaka of Vahana (Vehicles)
3) Progress this Venus for One Sign Per Year

Example
If Venus is in the 7th House in D16, then 8H would be the 2nd year, 6H would be the 12th
year, in 2nd round 6H would be the 24th year, 3rd round 36th year and so on.

Chart 1: R.G – Jyotish Guru in Poland

The native got Car in the 25th year when Rahu-Shukra-Surya was running which is from 30th Sept 06
to 23rd Nov 06.

Steps
1) Venus is in 4H, so progressing Venus the 3rd house would be the 12th year, 24th year & the
25th year would be the 4H. Venus is Variegated in color & Taurus is white (See Appendix for
list as per BPHS)

2) The native incidentally got a White Color Car as Inheritance from his Father; see dispositor
of 25th year house that is Moon is with 9H of Prosperity & Father together with 8L of
inheritance. He was gifted this Car by his Father.
3) With Vimshottari Dasa starting from Venus, we get the concerned period of Vimsottari
Dasa (started from Venus):
Jup MD: 2001-02-20 - 2017-02-20
Merc AD: 2005-10-21 - 2008-01-27
Moon PD: 2006-10-01 - 2006-12-09

Moon the PD lord is incidentally the 4L of D16, it is said that one should buy cars in the
PD of the 4L of D16 for better luck. The scribe is told the young boy has become famous
in the Internet world of Jyotish in recent times.

In email communication scribe had given 2 options as predictions for the year of buying car –
23rd or 25th year using our progression method, the native replied as 25th year, alternatively when
the scribe had used Dasa method independently to predict he was off by a year or two
completely.

Chart 2: S.S ref Delhi astrologer friend.

The native bought a Car on 14th May 2000 which would be his 36th year of life

Steps
1) Venus is in the 3rd House, so progressing Venus to the 36th year would bring us to the 12th
from the placement of Venus which would be 2H where Mars is placed
2) Mars indicated RED color and incidentally the native bought a Red color Maruti brand
vehicle (Maruti means Hanuman who is prayed for Mars – Red Color)

 3) The dasa was of Jup/Mars/Rahu - Mars the AD is the 4L in the sign of Aq whose co-lord is
Rahu who is with Venus giving him a vehicle.

Chart 3: S.H (Standard Horoscope)

The native bought car in Aug 2001 which would be his 29th year.

Steps
1) Venus is placed in lagna in D16, progressing Venus to the 29th year it would come to the 5H
which is Aq, whose lord Saturn
2) Saturn indicates BLUE color or BLACK color and though the native wanted to go for Black
color but at last moment he opted for BLUE Color Car.
3) The Progressed Venus lord is placed in 12H of abroad, that is 5H of new job is placed in
12H of loss, as soon as he bought the car he lost his new job in 3 months and within a year
he traveled abroad (Saturn is placed in 12H of foreign)

Chart 4: R.K ref Jyotish Guru – USA

The native bought car in March of 1993 which makes it the 46th year of his life.

Steps
1) Venus is in the 12H in D16, so progressing Venus to the 46th year it comes to the 10H of the
D16 chart.
2) The 10H is Cp whose lord is Saturn, Incidentally the native bought a BLUE color car which
is denoted by Saturn.
3) After buying this car the areas affected by it would have been Family, Money, Social Image
(status) & Fame, this scribe does not have any feedback on what happened but hopes to find
out as the native would also be receiving this personal write up on methods.
Footnote: As to the reason why, Cp Lord Sat goes into 2H of family & money with HL & GL
(money & fame) will be effected. So scribe asked him if this was so ?

In natives own words his reply in three paras below:-

Feedback 1:
“I experienced an great improvement in fortune very shortly thereafter. The
color, of course, was appropriate to the dasa period (Bhrigu and Narayana
dasa), but the key point that you were asking about was whether or not fortune
also improved as a result of driving that blue­colored car. In fact it did. My
income increased at least three­fold over the following year; I acquired a house
of my own for the first time in my life; my clientele increased dramatically, and I
also started teaching Jyotish that year. Slightly over a year after having that
car, I met Sri K.N. Rao, and after learning under him for a short period, my
Jyotish reached new dimensions. In fact, when Rao Saheb was in Seattle in
1994, I drove him around the city sight­seeing in that car! So, although we can
say that this is all karma and destiny, it is interesting that the increase in
fortune happened after the purchase of that car.”

Scribe: Note Saturn is old man with GL (famous –GL- old (Saturn) man Mr. [Link])

Feedback 2:

’In the example of my chart that you listed, you asked if the areas affected after
purchasing the car had to do with family, money, Imagine and Fame. All of the
above were affected. First, you can see that Saturn (lord of the progressed sign
for 46th year/Capricorn) is in Taurus, and the dispositor Venus is with 4th lord
Moon and 8th lord Mars (from lagna). I received the down payment on the car
as a partial inheritance from my mother. Without her giving me $5,000, I could
not have purchased the car. The car cost $10,000, and so my mother also co­
signed on a bank loan for the remainder. Thus the financial gift from my
mother (4th lord Moon), and the loan from the bank (8th lord Mars) contributed
to my acquisition of the car.

Now, in my other email I mentioned how wealth, fortune, and reputation

increased after I possessed the car as well. Notice that Saturn occupies the 2nd
house from lagna, whereas the 9th lord from dasa lagna becomes exalted and
thus strong, and joins 11th lord from lagna (also 2nd lord from dasa lagna)
Rahu, and 11th lord from dasa lagna, Ketu. So all of this figures in very nicely
with the Bhrighu progressions.”

Scribe: It is only when we get detailed feedback as the above we can see a chart
with more clarity and learn how the mother played a role, I spent quite some
time trying to determine how the dispositor Ven going with Moon (4L) & Mars
(8L of loan & inheritance) would give effect but had no guts to write on it
initially to him, a jyotish requires guts to predict but with scribe this needs to
be cultivated’

His explanation in his own words using another method:-

“It was a blue car. At the time, I was running the D-16 Narayana dasa of Scorpio, AD of Pisces. Mars rules the
maha-dasha, and so the Luxury (as indicated by the D-16 varga chart) was a motor vehicle. Mars is in the AD sign
of Pisces with exalted Venus and Moon, and so it is a beautiful car that I loved very much, and I still have that car.
Now, Saturn has Argala on both the MD and AD signs, and so dictates the color, i.e. blue. Someone could ask why
it wasn't a white car as Venus conjoined Mars. That is a good question - I think that it was blue because Saturn (by
Argala) dominated both MD and AD signs in my D-16.”

As this scribe hasn’t been able to learn Narayana Dasa or Argalas due to his inability to grasp
complex methods, the native always strives to learn simple methods like Bhrigu Progression etc but it
doesn’t mean we should ignore complex methods as all this is subjective to the one learning it.

Chart 5: G.K

The above examples are Text Book examples now let us take some complex examples & use the
Other Layer of this progression. This native bought car in Nov 2005 which would be his 31st year

Steps
1) Venus is in the 9H, the 31st year progression of Venus would come to 3rd house where Rahu (dark
brown) is sitting & sign is Scorpio whose color is reddish brown (another dark color), along with
Ketu (silver, metallic or water color) it is also aspected by Mars (Red), & Venus(White) etc.

But the sharp aspect of a Aq (deep brown) Saturn (black or blue or Steel Color) couple with Trinal Aspect
of a powerful Retrograde Transit Saturn clinched the Car Color choice as BLACK it seems as he bought a
black color fast (Mars) car.

Previous Car
The native got a car in June/July 2003 which would be his 29th year
Steps
1) Venus in 9H, progressing Venus to his 29th year it comes to the 1H where Moon is placed but
there is parivartana between Moon (White) & dispositor Mercury (Green), incidentally the native got
a WHITE color car, bought by his mother (Moon).

Chart 6: G.J (ref yahoogroups)

The native bought Two Cars in his 28th year, one on 12th Aug 2006 & second on 6th Sept 2006,
incidentally the color of the car was identical

Steps
1) Venus is in the 1H with Debilitated Jupiter, now progressing Venus to his 28th year with one
sign per year we come to the 4H as the 28th year where Rahu (dark) Ketu (metallic silver –
ketu colour will be opposite of Rahu) & Saturn are sitting (Saturn is blue, black or Steel
color), the dispositor Mars is in a sign of Saturn.
2) Incidentally both the cars were bought of SILVERISH color.

Further Study: It is being observed that the Venus progressed house should be observed and 4th from
it would also have a say in the choice of Color.

After testing it on few more charts we would realize that some sub layers of this method are useful to
determine the car color but it does not show which color should have been lucky in that year for
Cars, maybe 9th from that house year, I do not know someone needs to take this further.

16-17. Complexions of Grahas. Sūrya is blood-red. Candr is tawny. Man̄gal, who is not very tall is
blood-red, while Budh’s hue is akin to that of green grass. Tawny, variegated and dark are Guru, Śukr
and Śani in their order.

6-7. Mesh described. The Mesh is blood-red in complexion. lt has a prominent (big) physique. It is a
quadruped Rāśi and strong during night. It denotes courage. It resides in the East and is related to
kings. It wanders in hills and predominates in Rajo-Gun (the second of the three constituent qualities
and the cause of great activity in living beings). It rises with its back (a Prishtodaya Rāśi) and is fiery.
Its ruler is Man̄gal.
8. Vrishabh described. Vrishabh’s complexion is white and it is lorded by Śukr. It is long and is a
quadruped Rāśi. It has strength in night and resides in the South. It represents villages and
businessmen. An earthy Rāśi, Vrishabh rises with its back.
9-9½. Mithun described. The Rāśi Mithun rises with its head and represents a male and a female,
holding a mace and lute. It lives in the West and is an airy Rāśi. It is a biped Rāśi as well and is strong
in nights. It lives in villages and is windy in temperament. It has an even body with a green (grass
like) hue. Its ruler is Budh.
10-11. Kark described. The Rāśi Kark is pale-red. It resorts to forests and represents Brahmins. It is
strong in nights. It has many feet (i.e. it is a centipede Rāśi) and has a bulky body. It is Sattvic in
disposition (seen in gods) and it is a watery Rāśi. It rises with its back and is ruled by Candr.
12. Simh described. Simh is ruled by Sūrya and is Sattvic. It is a quadruped Rāśi and a royal Rāśi. It
resorts to forests and rises with its head. It has a large, white body. It resides in the East and is strong
during daytime.

13-14. Kanya described. This Rāśi is a hill-resorter and is strong in daytime. It rises with its head and
has a medium build. It is a biped Rāśi and resides in the South. It has grains and fire in its hands. It
belongs to the business community and is variegated. It relates to hurricanes (‘Prabharanjani’). It is a
Virgin and is Tamasic (a disposition of demons). Its ruler is Budh.

15-16½. Tula described. Tula is a Seershodaya Rāśi, rising with its head; Tula is strong in daytime. It
is black in complexion and is predominant with Rajo-Gun. It relates to the western direction and
resorts to land. It is destructive, or mischievous (‘Dhatin’). It represents Sudras, or the 4th Varna. It
has a medium build physique and is a biped Rāśi. Its Lord is Śukr. Vrischik described. Vrischik has a
slender physique and is a centipede Rāśi. It denotes Brahmins and resides in holes. Its direction is
North and it is strong in daytime. It is reddish-brown and resorts to water and land. It has a hairy
physique and is very sharp (or passionate). Man̄gal is its ruler.

17-18½. Dhanu described. The Rāśi Dhanu rises with its head and is lorded by Guru. It is a Sattvic
Rāśi and is tawny in hue. It has strength in night and is fiery. A royal Rāśi, Dhanu is biped in first
half. Its second half is quadruped. It has an even build and adores an arch. It resides in the East,
resorts to land and is splendourous.
19-20. Makar described. Makar is lorded by Śani and has predominance of Tamo-Gun (a disposition,
seen in demons). It is an earthy Rāśi and represents the southern direction. It is strong in nights and
rises with back. It has a large body. Its complexion is variegated and it resorts to both forests and
lands. Its first half is quadruped and its second half footless, moving in water.
21-21½. Kumbh described. The Rāśi Kumbh represents a man holding a pot. Its complexion is
deep-brown. It has medium build and is a biped Rāśi. It is very strong in daytime. It resorts to deep
water and is airy. It rises with its head and is Tamasic. It rules Sudras, the 4th Varna and the West. Its
Lord is Śani, Sūrya’s offspring.

22-24. Meen described. Meen resembles a pair of fish, one tailed with the head of the other. This
Rāśi is strong at night. It is a watery Rāśi and is predominant with Sattva-Gun. It denotes
resoluteness and is a water-resorter. It is footless and has a medium build. It rules the North and rises
with both head and back. It is ruled by Guru. This is how the twelve Rāśis, each of 30 degrees extent,
are described to evaluate gross and specific effects.
