Chapter IV

TECHNICAL ASPECT

This chapter discusses the technical aspect of the proposed business. It

includes the suppliers, sources of raw materials, supplier’s order flow, technical

process and production needs.

The Supplier

This presents and discusses the raw materials, sources of raw materials,

and suppliers order flow of the proposed business.

Supplies

The proposed business serves different kinds of beverages; they have three

suppliers which are the main sources for their products, equipment and materials

as regards with its maintenance for electricity and water supply. The suppliers

will be the Anastacio L. Products located at 220 A. Bonifacio, San Juan, Metro

Manila, La Cimbali Coffee Machines Sheridan Cor. Pines St., Mandaluyong, and

Fly Ace Corporation 13 Coral Way, Pasay, 1308 Metro Manila, that will help

Tempo Del Café have good quality of products.

Coffee to go / Beverage Bags - Coffee bags are basically tea bags, but instead

of tea, they have freshly ground coffee instead.

Creamer Portions – A non-diary product in powder or liquid form, made chiefly

from corn syrup solids and used as a substitute for cream, especially for coffee

cream.
Paper Hot Cups with Lids - A paper cup is a disposable cup made out of paper

and often lined or coated with plastic or wax to prevent liquid from leaking out or

soaking through the paper

Condiments Kits - a matched group of containers usually with tray or rack,

including containers for pepper, salt, and mustard and often stoppered cruets for

oil and vinegar.

Sweetener Portions - an artificial substance that has a similar taste to sugar.

Take-Out Cup Carriers - are the most widely used take-out packaging for the

foodservice and grocery industry.

Coffee Cup Sleeves - Are roughly cylindrical sleeves that fit tightly over handle-

less paper coffee cups to insulate the drinkers from hot coffee.

Coffee Packaging - A coffee bag is a container used for shipping and storing

coffee. Coffee beans are usually transported in large jute sacks, while coffee sold

to consumers may be packaged as beans or ground coffee in a small, sealed

plastic bag.

Sources of Supplies

The source of supplies like chairs, tables, CCTV’s, aircons, light bulbs, toilet

bowl, faucets, and internet connection will be in VTY Trading, Citi Hardware, and

PLDT.

Suppliers Order Flow

This study showed the Suppliers Order Flow. The chart below represents the

buyer’s steps in order to have the purchased product from the supplier that

started from inquiry, to accommodation, to order placement, and ended with the

payment as it will immediately proceed to the processing of the delivery of the

materials needed and finally pick up those deliveries.

Service Flow

The figure below shows the Service flow. Customers should inquire first in

the proposed business site in which they will be inquiring about their orders

which will be catered by the personnel of the proposed business. To be followed

by accommodation in which the head manager and employees will discuss the

product and services that are available. Then, discuss the offered services that

are provided by the proposed business, products and prices of the packages.

Facilities

It refers to a place, especially buildings, where a particular activity

happens. It will provide a good working


3 condition to the employees and will also

make clients comfortable. The following are the facilities available in the

proposed business;

Counter Area- This section is a long flat-topped fixture in the shop across

which business is conducted with customers.

Customer’s Lounge- This section is where the clients can seat, comfort

and entertain themselves while waiting for their session.

Rest Room- For personal matters that everyone could not avoid, the

establishment has its rest room to accommodate the customers and employees

to try the items and other personal concerns.

Storage Room- The proposed business has equipment that will be placed

in the storage room for the safety and to prevent damaging easily.

Parking Area- An area outside of the coffee shop for parking the vehicle

of the customers.
Fire Exit- The proposed business will have an emergency exit that allows

for faster evacuation in case of fire outbreak that is possible to happen.

Machinery and Equipment

The proposed business would be needing equipment or tools for a successful

operation. These are tangible properties that are used in the operation of

business. The following are the equipment needed for the proposed business.

Espresso machine- This will be used to brew coffee by forcing

pressurized water near boiling point through a “puck” o ground coffee and a filter

in order to produce a thick, concentrated coffee called espresso.

Regular Coffee Grinder- This will be used as a single grinder for both

regular and decaf drip coffee can generally keep up with the lesser demand for

this type of drink.

Coffee Brewers- This will be used as automatic brewers, pour over coffee

machines to brew and serve coffee.

Frappe and Smoothie Blenders- This will be used to make frozen

espresso-based drinks like iced lattes, frappes, and macchiato.

Ice Machine- Ice is an essential ingredient in smoothies, ice coffees, and

other cold specialty drinks "not to mention in sodas or water" so having a reliable

ice machine is essential.

LED Signs- This will be put in the entrance to entice customers’ attention

to come into the establishment and enjoy the offers.

Fluorescent Light- It is used to provide illumination for the establishment.


Computer Set- This will be used for encoding data by the proposed

business to perform jobs more efficient and the business can then send coupons

or special promotions to these customers by email or posting on social media

site.

Printer- This will be placed at the manager’s office in which it will be used

for printing of documents and transactions needed in the proposed business.

Flat Screen TV- It will be placed in the lobby area for entertainment while

waiting to avoid boredom.

Air conditioner- This is advice that lowers the air temperature. The

cooling is typically achieved through a refrigeration cycle, but sometimes

evaporation or free cooling is used.

Fire Extinguisher- An object that extinguishes fire in case of fire

outbreak.

Water Dispenser- A machine used to keep the water cold or warm for

drinking purposes. It must be placed in the corner.

CCTV Camera- To tighten our security, signals from security cameras are

sent to private monitors for surveillance.

Generator Set- This will be the substitute of the electricity in case of a

black out.

Furniture and Fixtures

This refers to the furniture, fixtures and other materials that are movable and

cannot be depreciate easily because it is considered to have an indeterminate

useful life. The following are the furniture and fixtures that will be used for the

proposed business.
Tables- is used as a surface for working at, eating from or on which to

place things.

Chairs- is a type of seat that helps the customer to feel comfortable while eating.

Sofa- is place in the waiting area where everyone can sit in a pile in comfort and

watch TV while waiting for their orders.

Cabinet- is a small room for displaying precious objects and later a piece

of furniture composed of a network of small drawers commonly enclosed by a

pair of doors.

Utilities

These are the useful features in every working environment, such as electricity,

gas, water, cable and telephone. The following are the useful features of the

proposed business:

SOCOTECO II for electricity- is to make electric service available throughout its

coverage area.

PLDT for the Connection- is the country's leading broadband and digital

services provider that allows seamless, simultaneous streaming in all devices at

home and office.

Water Supply
Water District is the local corporate entity that operates and maintains a

water supply system in one or more provincial cities or municipalities.

Labor Supply

The proposed business should hire an applicant that must be suitable for

the expertise needed; helping employees to grow and stay committed over the

long term can help for the success of the proposed business. In hiring for the

position of one (1) store manager, five (5) barista, one (1) cashier, five (5) café

server, one (1) janitor and one (1) security guard who is responsible for the

security and safeness of the Shop.

Building Layout

The layout shows the plan of its foundation on the ground surface

according to its drawings, so that excavation can be carried out exactly where

required and position and orientation of the building is exactly specified.

Waste Disposal

The proposed business will put trash bins at every corner inside the shop

and at the waiting area to segregate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable

and to ensure the cleanliness is maintained in the said place. The garbage is

being collected by the Barangay San Isidro garbage collector in the morning at

8:00AM twice a week.
