Grady Nielsen Sets Nashua Scoring Record

The document summarizes a story from Daniels County about a dog that fell through the ice while ice fishing but surprisingly emerged from another ice hole, surviving the ordeal. Nielsen sets
school record
By Mike Brandt
Records are made to be broken
and some are made to be set. In all
my years of keeping stats for Coach
Ron Scott and Nashua, I had never
seen any boy or girl from Nashua
score 40 points or more.
Thursday night Grady Nielsen
did that. In fact, the sophomore
scored 48 points to set the Nashua
Porcupines school record in
whipping Frazer 98-58. The 98 ties
the school record. Nashua scored
98 points against Dodson in the
1980s.
Nashua coach and former
athlete Travis Nielsen felt going
into the game that his team could
score a lot of points.
“I did. We had a couple weeks
off because of the cancellations due
to the weather,” he said. “We started
to change some things. That was a
good game to experiment to see if
our kids could do it. ”
Coach Nielsen and his
assistant Dale Pugh were watching
game films and saw something they
didn’t like.
