Inspection Report on Package Units

1) An inspection was carried out of five package units in Building T-02, Building 24, and Tunnel-03 at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah. 2) In Building T-02, one of the three TRANE package units was 100% damaged and the remaining two were running at 15-20% efficiency. The units were obsolete and replacement parts were unavailable. 3) The package unit in Building 24 and Tunnel-03 were also obsolete with damaged bodies and needed replacement to maintain cooling for critical electrical equipment.

An inspection carried out for five (5) Package Units
Location:
Building#T-02, Bld#24 and Tunnel-03
Inspection Result:

Building T02
There are Three (3) TRANE Package Units. These Package Units, serving Main
Substation 70 & 71, out of Three Package Units, One Package Units is 100% Damaged,
remaining 2 Package Units running at an efficiency of approximately 15-20%, (i-e 80-85% found
in damaged condition).
Already Mentioned in in Snag List and Obsolete. Body almost damaged. As these are Obsolete,
(Material not Available) in Market, Remaining Two Package Units may stop working at any
time.
Recommendation:
These package Units almost 25 Years old, Serving Main Substation 70 & 71. Therefore,
without cooling in Substation it may cause Failure of Transformer’s/ Substation’s Equipment’s
due to hot Temperature.

Building#24

In Building 24, there is One TRANE Package Unit. Already Mentioned in in Snag List
and Obsolete. Body & Duct for Package Unit is also Damaged.
Recommendation:
Package Unit is almost 25 Years old, Need to Change/Replace these Old and Obsolete
Package Units with New One and also Duct Need to Replace with new One.

Tunnel-03
In Tunnel#3, One CARRIER Package Unit. For Tunnel 03, Already Mentioned in in
Snag List and Obsolete. Body is almost damaged and also dismantled
Recommendations
Need to Change these Old and Obsolete Package Units with New One
