The three witches : or as known as the weird sisters who are responsible of planting

the seed of ambition and evil in Macbeth's mind .their prophecies drive the most of
the plot , it was also the reason of Macbeth's rise and downfall as well , the concept of
fate is a central theme and the witches prophecies raise questions about destiny . the
witches symbolize the darker aspect of human nature and the chaos that is a result of
unchecked ambition , they represent a world beyond the nature order and the chaos
and disruption that it they brings to the world . so the witches were basically an evil ,
manipulative and extraordinary characters in the play and because of their actions
they caused a tragic end of the life of Macbeth . their end was unclear and mysterious
after their goddess Hecate appeared in Act 3 , scene 5 she reproach them for getting
involved in and manipulating Macbeth's life without her permission . so she was the
.one who planned for Macbeth's downfall and after that they disappeared mysteriously

extra information : in Shakespeare's time , women were often portrayed as weak or #

submissive , yet the witches were the opposite of that and broke the stereotypes . they
. are strong , independent and have a huge impact on man's life

DUNCAN : Macbeth's first victim , the king of Scotland , he was a loved and
virtuous king his people loved him , even MACBETH but in Duncan's death there is
. a win to Macbeth

BANQUO : Banquo was a fellow captain in Duncan's army and a loyal noble man ,
he fought along with Macbeth he was also a loyal friend of Macbeth and he was with
him when the witches told Macbeth the prophecies , although he was a good and loyal
man but he also had an ambitious side and greed since he asked for a prophecy
" himself in act 1 scene 3 , which was

.Lesser than Macbeth and greater

SECOND WITCH

.Not so happy, yet much happier

THIRD WITCH

" .Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none

That prophecy made Macbeth feel unsafe and insecure it was like a threat to him ,
after Macbeth become a king and the king Duncan died BANQUO started to suspect
Macbeth's intentions and behavior so he was careful and cautious because he knew
there was something happening and he was right . and because Macbeth felt
threatened he had to kill BANQUO and his son FLEANCE so he send killers to find
. them and kill them but they kill Banquo only and his son survives

The return of Banquo as a ghost in the banquet hosted by Macbeth represent the guilt
and paranoia that Macbeth is facing , this scene is a powerful moment that symbolize
. the mental and psychological condition of our hero
 MACDUFF : one of the important characters in the play , he is a noble and loyal
Scottish noblemen Thane of Fife, is loyal to King Duncan. He is the first to discover
Duncan’s dead body and never believes it was the servants who killed him. he is a
patriotic and dedicated to his country , he wanted to protect Scotland and his people
from Macbeth and his cruelty , he was upright and motivated that he can do that , he
was a family man he loved his family and admired them , and when he heard the news
of Macbeth killing his wife and children he was filled with anger and grief so he
become determined to seek vengeance and looking for justice for his wife , children
and the Scottish people . MACDUFF's final showdown with Macbeth was a climax ,
and him defeating Macbeth was the main event in the play and it shows how
determent he was . Macduff becomes a symbol of resistance against Macbeth's rule ,
. his actions rally other nobles and forces against that brutal king

LADY MACDUFF : lady macduff and her children were another innocent victims of
. Macbeth's brutality , she was associated with innocence and domestic sphere

In act 4 her husband left her and their children behind to join the forces against
. Macbeth so she faces their fate alone

MALCOM : the son of the king Duncan he was the rightful heir of the Scottish
throne. After his father's murder he flees to England to seek help and take over the
. throne again
