EXECUTIVE ORDERNO. _007 , Series of 2018

AN ORDER REORGANIZING THEBARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE (BNC)

WHEREAS, pursuant to PD 491 as amended, the National Nutrition Council was created as
the highest policy-making and coordinating body on nutrition;

WHEREAS, there is a need to institutionalize the nutrition at the Barangay level;

WHEREAS, the Barangay nutrition committee shall manage and coordinate the planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP) as
a component of the Barangay Development Plan;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FRANCISCO M. LAIHEE, Punong Barangay of Barangay 14,


Cagayande Oro City, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby organize the
Barangay Nutrition committee, otherwise known as BNC.
SECTION 1. Composition.There shall be a reorganized Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC)
to be composed of the following:

SECTION 2. Functions. The Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) shall perform the
following functions:

1. Formulate Barangay Nutrition Action Plan


2. Coordinate Nutrition activities of the Barangay
3. Conduct Operation Timbang (OPT) under the supervision of the Rural Health
Midwife
4. Organize specific groups to implement nutrition intervention activities and
assess its progress
5. Hold regular quarterly meeting to monitor program performance

SECTION 3. Effectivity. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
