<Guidelines for installing the add-in program & datasets>
A. Downloading the files
1. First of all, move to the publisher website (access.cengageasia.com).
<First page of the website>
2. There is an access code behind of your textbook cover. And you have to input the access
code on the blank bar. Then press ‘continue’. Then the instruction of registration process
will be shown. Follow the instruction.
3. Once you complete the process, you can see the textbook name with ‘open’ button. Please
press ‘open’.
4. Then you can see the list of files you can download. Then you have to choose ① Data
Analysis Plus (VBA) ② Dataset (Excel) ③ Excel Workbooks and download them.
5. ② Dataset (Excel) is important because you need to use the dataset from the 1 st
assignment. ③ Excel Workbooks will be used later in the semester.
B. Installing the add-in program to Excel
1. Data Analysis Plus (VBA) file
After downloading this zip file, unzip it to get the 3 files which is shown below:

③ Press Ctrl + g. OR [show]-[immediate window]. Then you can see another script on
the visual basic editor. (refer to the picture below).

Enter.
⑤ Then it will show you the location of ‘Xlstart’ folder which your computer remembers. Then
copy the location and paste it on the folder address as below:
⑥ And put Stats_2007-2013_v9b.xls file in that folder. Also put ‘Stats_2007-2010_v9b.chm’

3. Then, close Excel and reopen it.
Then just like the picture above, you will see the ‘add-in’ menu on the top menu bar. If you click
it, you can see ‘Data Analysis Plus’ buttons. That’s the one that we will use.
Another Important Tip for troubleshooting!!
If you followed everything but still cannot see “Data Analysis Plus” tab in the menu, try the following:
1. Do not open an excel file directly.
2. Open the program (Excel) first.
3. Then from the menu “open”, open the file you need.
