2 You are Anoop/Arya, the cultural secretary of your school. As part of the national heritage
programme, the school has decided to put up a show on ancient art forms. Write a notice to
be put up on the school notice board inviting students to watch the show and encourage
the artists. Write the notice in not more than 50 words.

Q2 A LETTER ( JOB APPLICATION )


1 You are Chetan Sharma, a commerce graduate from Delhi University. You are seeking a
suitable job. You came across an advertisement in The Times of India, inviting young and
dynamic fresh graduates as sales assistants in a reputed company. Apply for the said job to

2 You are Suresh/Smita. You come across the following advertisement in a national daily.
You consider yourself suitable and eligible for the post. Write an application in response to
the advertisement.

1 The efforts of 400 volunteers working with the NGO, 4 Literacy, in the district of
Malkangiri, Odisha, was lauded by the District Collector, Shri V. Singh (IAS). As a staff
reporter of ‘The Odisha Bhaskar’, write a report about this in 120-150 words covering all the
details of the event, such as training, teaching and infrastructure involved in the ‘Each One
Teach One’ campaign, initiated by the district administration in association with the NGO.
2 As you were driving back home from work you were witness to an accident between a
Maruti car and a truck. The driver of the car was seriously injured. There was confusion and
chaos prevailing on the road. Write a newsreport in about 120 to 150 words. You are

1 While reading about new places and searching for them online has its merits,
theadvantages of actually travelling to various destinations far exceed them. Write an

grandmother’s eightieth birth anniversary and has extended an invite to you. He has
also requested your assistance for arrangements needed. Draft a reply of acceptance,
in not more than 50 words.
3 M/s Shyam Lai & Sons are opening a new general store ‘Galaxy Novelties’ in Geetanjali
Enclave, Dwarika, Delhi. The inauguration ceremony is fixed for Sunday, the 19th of
October 20XX at 11 a.m. Prepare a draft of formal invitation letter for the purpose.
