July 17 4:50 pm Luphug:

Emptiness
– All appearances and existence are interdependent. This means that nothing exists on its own
but is dependent on causes and conditions. If you understand this and realize this, you will
realize that nothing has characteristics on its own. If you keep meditating on this you will
develop this. Although this is difficult.

Samaya
– Related to the teacher from whom you’ve had empowerments, transmissions, or instructions.
– So many things: do not break anything from body speech mind related to the lama. If you
have faith in the Lama and in the Dharma, there isn’t any possibility for a strong breakage.
– Remember that Penor Rinpoche is the Root Teacher, even if you haven’t met him. There is a
karmic connection to him which is why you were brought to this lineage. You can have a
photo of him and see him as your root teacher. Just like you haven’t met Shakyamuni and
Guru Rinpoche.
– Find the deity that speaks to you the most - the one whose empowerment and practice
shocks you the most- and focus on that deity as it is the one who will awaken you.
Accumulate heart mantra.
– Also means pure view of the teacher who gave empowerment, his body, all speech, and mind
is the Buddha.
– Important to develop devotion with a particular guru as they know your mind the most.

Bodhicitta importance Without affirmation negation hope fear

– To do this you must have no hesitation hope or dualistic thoughts (polluted with fear and
hope), without this, it doesn’t help.
– If you have it you’ll be taken down

Bell and dorje symbolism - including 8 syllables on top

– Method and wisdom
– Mam lam pam tam letters of 5 dhyani Buddhas

take refuge again?

– Can take it again.

Vajrakilaya why so important and central to be a daily practice? And who are these deities in
Vajrakilaya, what are their qualities individually?
Hungkar? Khamsum? Not found elsewhere?
– Very important because he is the deity of immense power. He is wrathful, and if you plan
anything or do anything, if you supplicate and accumulate him, you will accomplish it and
repel obstacles.

Tsiu Marpo how to make a connection?

– Very special protector for Penor Rinpoche he was very focused. If you do practice very
powerful. You can pray supplication prayers .

Luphug tulku
Permission to view recording?
– YES because lung

Why two versions

– Don’t think there’s anything wrong with the two versions
– Recite exactly
Practically for ngondro accumulations do we have to repeat it 4 times, 400000 long and short?
Advice for accumulating?
– Each of the 5 is 100000.
– Just say one hundred thousand for each.
– The reason 400000 is mentioned is when you want to make Vajrasattva your main practice.
How to accumulate bodhicitta and guru yoga
– 100000 7 line
– Bodhicitta is combined only one line
Green hri- where is green and yellow light?
– Green navel and yellow secret

Khenchen:
1. 3 roots practice namcho?
– Guru Padmasambhava, whichever deities you feel connected to and have empowerment
(Chenrezig), Yeshe Tsogyal. Any three that you feel connected to and have received
empowerment
2. What to do when things feel so real, when Madhyamaka feels like I’m deluding myself. What if
it’s all fake and only earthly pleasures exist and not enlightenment? How can I see the proof
of the teachings in this life?
– Doubts are always possible, this is habitual thinking but in the Buddhist perspective it is the
simplest most basic understanding
– so much so that even the lower yanas view the world as truly existing
– Madhyamaka will logically help and question your doubts and increase interest
3. Manifestation? How to get desires as Buddhists? Can or do the Buddhas help us get worldly
needs and desires? Any important dharma protectors for fulfilling wishes? A major motivation
for being Buddhist was I wanted something in particular but I feel like I can never have it, so
to deal with my bitterness I was hoping Buddhism could help me. But now I realize I still really
want it and being Buddhist won’t help. How can I have hope that my dreams would come
true? Is there a Buddhist basis for this?
– Habitual tendency of all beings
– Study more dharma
– Read Words of my perfect teacher and use your own intellect to investigate and see
– You need more education in this field
– All these emotions are samsaric mind, afflictive emotions from previous life
– These afflictive emotions create karma
– Temporary happiness which leads to suffering
– As time passes you will realize things and wish you didn’t think in this or that way

Vajrasattva purification what exactly does it do, if purifies everything then it means all bad karma is
exhausted

Question about approaching the path and proper mindset. bitterness leading to Disgust with how
people suffer in samsara. Thought that I WILL END SAMSARA FOR EVERYONE. Is this correct?
essence of ngondro and proper mindset.

Why bodhicitta is so important in the path. Without affirmation negation hope fear? Accumulating
bodhicitta separately? I know all of the daily practice book is Dzogchen view, nangsi thugje chenpo
la chagtsal tod, how to apply at this point in ngondro?
