Head and chest:
Crochet a chain of 6, into the 2nd chain from the
hook, work an inc, then 1 sc each in every one of
the next 3 sts, into the last chain of the chain, work
3 sc, then continue into the unused loops on the
opposite side of the chain – 4 sc. This has yielded
12 sc. To visualize the overall shape – we have
crocheted around all sides of the beginning chain,
see video here.
Using wire cutters, cut 4 pieces of wire, each 2.5 cm [1 inch] long and bend each
one slightly in the middle, as shown in the photo. Apply glue to the bottom of the
crocheted strip, and press the legs onto it. Then, fold the crocheted strip in half
width-wise, so that the second half covers up the spot in which the legs have
been glued on. This has created the spider’s head and chest with attached legs.
For reinforcement, additionally fasten with a few sewn stitches.
Sew the head-and-chest part to the body.

If desired, two dots may be embroidered to the body with colorful yarn as shown.
