It was a stormy night in Azrath, a grim dark sky was crying iron tears down to
everyone. Selendis didn't stay in home like most of the Demonias, but instead she
slowly walked through the rain, walked down a familiar road. She focused on the
task at hand and kept her mind clear. Selendis continued her road and left the
town. She seemed like heading into a more isolated area of the entire nation. Soon
enough she found herself in a forest, were the winds were howling and thunder
striking, the rain flooding the very ground she walked on, but right then when she
thought it wasn't about the time to go where she planned, a vision appeared. In
that foretold future she saw the sphere artifact, in a glowing blue color, floating
in a mysterious, dark place. Right after that everything switched to a dark head
from a mysterious silhouette. It's eyes were of a burning, piercing red staring
through any soul that dared to face his. In the real world her eyes were of the
same, burnt and pierce, the only difference being that hers were green. Flames
spread from her eyes as she saw the future, gaining a vision of oblivion, knowing
that she had to do something. With that short burst of motivation, Selendis woke up
to reality and found her feet dug into the mud she used to walk on. She struggled
and walked out of it, passing through the forest. Once she left she merely thought
it was over, but then came a hill she had to go up. On the emerald-green hill
waters came down, drowning all life they found in it's way. It was full of dead
insects, but that didn't prevent Selendis from going. It was a small price to pay
for the reclamation she wanted.
She covered her eyes with a hand and with the other she ignited her blade. She went
ahead and cut down a tree with it and with a few well executed cuts managed to
carve it and make a shielf out of the tree. She grabbed the wood and then put her
in fron of her, between her and the hill. Selendis then kept pushing onwards and
saw the water flowing around her shield, avoiding her feet. The water kept pushing
her back, but her will didn't let it throw her away. By the half of the hill she
felt close to giving up, but reminded herself of all the Demonias and the way
they've been treated, the wars they went through and how most of them were used as
trade currency. She got fueled by all of thsoe thoughts and kept pushing the wood,
eventually reaching the top of that hill. There she put down the wood and slowly
walked forward, having only one thought echo through her mind.* `I must keep moving
forward. I will keep moving forward. For Azrath, I have to keep moving forward...`
*Those thoughts clouded her mind as she walked through mud and dirt, reacing her
final destination in the end. Selendis arrived at a rock plateau, on which ruins of
once was her home rested. But although the temple was wrecked, there was something
few knew about. She cut her way through the fallen rocks and reached on the ground,
for a secret hatch. She grabbed the handle and pulled it open. There she walked
down some stairs, closing the hatch behind her. She ignited her blade as her dark
sight was weakened due to the lack of practice. She could still see in the dark,
but as well as a person without glasses. She walked down the stairs and reached a
cold, dark and blinding, huge area. It was empty to the most, but it was full of
shadows to her. She rested in the middle of it, assuming a meditation stance as she
closed her eyes. After waiting for a few minutes in utter darkness, her closed eyes
started burning green once more. Her soul got lost in her mind as her visions
started appearing again. She would seemingly stare at the silhouette in her
visions, her also being a silhouette. They stood there before the one foreign to
her started speaking, in a heavy tone with a strong accent* `You already know what
will happen to you. You won't make it. Your efforts are futile, but you still keep
on going` *It tried to intimidate Selendis, but she didn't fall back, not when she
had to keep her mind clear* "I know I will die one day, but I will untie all four
nations and make them work together, preventing whatever you are. The keystones
will lead us to the peace" *She said certain, beliving in what the visions gave
her, having a feeling that they will lead her to the ultimate goal of bringing
peace among everyone. But little did she know that the voice wasn't there to have a
talk with her. In a flash it snapped, punching her gut and sending her flying in
that abyss they were in. Selendis would already feel gravely injured, but couldn't
back down, not as her burdens weighted upon her. She tried igniting her blade on
instinct and her silhouette formed a similar one coming out of the wrist. She would
vanish and leave behind a shadow, appearing above the figure as she charged in with
her blade. It dodged without a problem and then went to land a kick on her head,
but Selendis blinked behind it and went to pierce it's back with her blade. The
silhouette tried to counter it and turned around with a fist, going to strike her
head, but she whirled, creating a tornado and during the action she switched places
with the shadow left behind and made two tornados heading towards the dark
silhouette. She managed to land that as her first attack and blinked in front of
him, leaving behind another shadow. She went for a stab directly in his chest, but
she woke up to him catching her wrist, whirling her and throwing her far away. She
landed and struck the abyssal ground. She got up, feeling fataly injured, to the
point her blade faded away. The voice faced her and crossed it's arms. It looked
angry towards Selendis. Another kick landed on her jaw putting her down. Selendis
would struggle to stand up, and never give up. She held her left arm as it felt
like falling off, the light in her eyes slowly fading away. She frowned at the
being of monstrous strength and spoke in a weakened tone* "My life...for Azrath"
*She said going to directly shoulder bash it. The dark voice let her hit it, and
faded away as Selendis returned to reality and realized she was shadowfighting the
whole time, not sure how much that was either her mind or an actual vision. But one
thing was clear, her injuries were real. So something out there truly hit and
damaged her, maybe her very soul got harmed and her body shaped after it. Selendis
didn't want to end it though. She kept moving forward for the sake of her strength.
She knew that in order to save everyone, she had to be strong. As she used her
magic to the best she could, she modified the space inside of her and healed her
wounds, preparing for something that was to come. Alone in the darkness, Selendis
crawled to a corner. No matter how she wanted to believe everything was fine, her
wounds were still persisting, even if she tried to heal herself. In a desperate,
one last wish for the mere safety feeling, she closed her eyes. But when she did,
it felt like an eternity passed between each blink. There was something strange
about the temple and it's unique shadows. No matter how much she tried to ignite
her blade now, it just formed the shape and color, but nothing was enlightened by
it. Everything was in utter oblivion. She realized soon after that there was no way
of orientation, no way of exiting. She was lost, but it couldn't have been the end
for her. She rose from her sad shell and manned up, starting to wander in a
straight line, knowing that there had to be a wall. And once she found that wall,
she could move alongside it and find the stairs. But as seemingly hours passed, it
was getting more and more obvious that it was an endless room, no way to find all
the walls. Selendis sighed in disbleief, but kept moving. She looked down and her
eyes slowly closed. At that time another vision stuck her. Multiple images of the
entire world flashed before her eyes as they stopped for a few secondds on multiple
images. In one of them she saw herself from above, near the middle where a glow was
making it's presence, yet nor making any light. Another had dhown ruins of
something familiar with a Sphere in there. The third one shown her an underground
tomb, in an unknown place showing a short chain, about one meter. The next vision
was about two crossed blades, thin ones glowing blue like everything so far. And
then, in the end, the last vision shown her a pair of metals, seemingly forming two
claws. She had no idea what all of those meant, but one thing was for sure.
Whatever was in the middle of the room could save her. She kept her eyes closed and
focused on what she saw, resembling the image in her head. Selendis walked slowly,
yet surely towards her destination. Her heart was racing, hoping it would be her
way out of the dungeon. With every step she took, her feet would feel heavy,
heavier, yet heavier. It felt as if the ground beneath her was starting to crumble
beneath her very own feet, but from her training, she knew very well that fear is
only an illusion. She took a strong heart and stopped. She stood straight up, her
eyes still closed as she could feel a strong psionic disturbance. It was obvious
that the energy came from what she was looking for, so Selendis went ahead and
grabbed the light, feeling her entire mind enlightened as her eyes were forcefully
opened as flames covered them, the same green flames from her abyss journey. Shw
would let out a shot as the smokescreen in her very own head got shattered,
regaining her shadow sight with this. It was an illusion created by the dark voice
in order to trap her within the basement and eventually die. She was lucky that her
blessings were present and could help her make it through, happy and cheerful she
started laughing, falling to the ground. She looked around, everything in the room
being so clear, unbeliveable that she was unable to see just a few moments ago.
Perhaps she managed to reach the enlightening to her mind and so managed to reclaim
what was lost, to be whole again. Feeling the burning will in her eyes, she looked
towards the stairs and questioned herself if there was anything left to do. With
one last look through the basement of what used to be her temple, she ignited her
blade and pierced the ground, slowly making markings on it. Those markings were in
an ancient language taught to her by the templars before they died. On the ground
were symbols, reading out the words "En aru'din Templari". With her last rite
written on the floor, Slendis sighs in sorrow as she heads towards the stairs,
going up with a strong heart, knowing that oblivion awaits. Her path was set, and
from that point onwards, the visions were going to guide her, guide her to a better
future and unite everyone, at a price paid even in blood if needed. As she reached
for the exit, the hatch seemed to be stuck. It was questionable as there was no one
nearby, except her, right? Well that's where she was wrong. Little did she know
that there was someone above her, trying to lock her in. Anger flew through her as
she rited a few words* "Zira vek kryor!" *Selendis spoke in a nearly shouting tone
as she blinked above the hatch, igniting her blade to quickly spin and create a
tornado in the field, throwing away pieces of the ruined temple and creating a
rumbling around. But as she calmed down within a few seconds, there was no one to
be found. Her senses went berserk as her eyes quickly ignited in the green flames,
seeing something come towards her. Selendis became invisible and dodged to the
left, avoiding a spike that was thrown
right at her. It appeared to be some kind of strange spirit, a little one that at
first sight was innocent. Selendis let her cloak go in a fake feeling of safety.
But when she let her guard down out of it's mouth a horrible, rigid monster
appeared, opening it's mouth too in order to shoot another poisonous spike towards
Selendis. But she could not falter, she could not waver. At the ignition of her
psionic blade she cut right through the spike and dashed towards the monster, but
vanished and transformed into a silhouette. The next moment she appeared above the
horrific creature, impaling it's head with the blade. After a few more slices to
ensure it's death, she switched with the silhouette and ocercharged it, causing an
explosion in that place. By the time she got out of the tomb, it had the night
passed, finding herself basking in the dawnlight. The ground was solid and the
beauty of the land could once more be seen. She sat down for a few moments to
admire the surroundings as she returned to meditation. But as soon as she tried to
another vision appeared, but it was the most unusual one. It was a clock, ticking
slowly towards un uninevitable end. That helped her realize that time for thought
was over, she had to act. And so, Selendis' journey had begun in the search of the
artifacts and the unlock of their full potential, hopefully bringing a new end to
the world, a better one this time.*
