CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

This research study aims to ascertain the advantages of senior high students
from ABM strand graduates to work right after graduating. Some students have been
looking for a job right after graduating due to financial stability or extra income for
college tuition or materials needed. Aside from the mere fact that not every student has
the privilege of having the capability to be stable in general. The advantage that SHS
graduates may have over other college graduates would be the longer immersion hours
that they had spent with the type of companies that they want to work for. Many
companies accept only job applicants with at least two years of college education, which
potentially excludes SHS graduates. This hiring policy explains the discrepancy
between the graduates’ supposedly high competency and their low chances of getting a
job.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The Objective of this study is to evaluate the employment chances that awaits
Our Lady of Fatima University's SHS ABM graduates in the future. Our research will
also assist the students in learning, discovering, and determining where they will work
and what professions are available to them once they graduate. Also, learn the ways on
how to increase the probability of youth employment especially to those students who
are in need. It also targets the reason why many students crave to look for a job after
graduating. This investigation will look at why so many SHS students are interested in
finding employment. Our study will make a valuable contribution for SHS students who
want to pursue work.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

We have been informed that most of the senior high school students struggle
with financial stability, so early on in their senior high journey they tend to look for a job
to support themselves and for their needs. The only thing that's holding them back is
their capacity to work at their young age, some management does not hire students
who have no experience nor do students who’s at their young age without a consent.

the researchers would like to know the following problems:

General Problem:
1. Are SHS (ABM) Graduates ready for work employment?
2. What are the possible jobs that hire SHS Graduates?
3. Is it enough for senior high school graduates to work with the knowledge that
they are given in their SHS years?
4. What are the possible things that senior high school graduates may face when
they work?
5. Will the SHS graduates be a big help to the ongoing and decreasing employment
rate?

RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS

Students who graduate with an Accountancy and Business Management

(ABM) have a higher likelihood of securing employment in the field of data analysis and
simulation compared to students who graduate with traditional data analysis degrees.
Accountancy and Business Management is a specialized field of study that focuses on
simulating complex systems and analyzing data using computational models. ABM
students receive training in various computer programming languages, data analysis
techniques, and simulation methodologies, making them well-suited for employment in
fields such as data analytics, business intelligence, and operations research.

To test this hypothesis, researchers can conduct a survey of recent ABM graduates and
traditional data analysis graduates, asking them about their employment status and the
types of jobs they secured after graduation. Researchers can also analyze job postings
in industries that require data analysis and simulation skills to see if there is a higher
demand for ABM graduates compared to traditional data analysis graduates. By
comparing the employment outcomes of these two groups, researchers can determine
whether there is a significant advantage for ABM graduates in terms of employment
possibilities.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

This study focuses on the Advantages of Senior High ABM Graduates to work
Employment from Our Lady of Fatima University. The data collection are expected to be
conducted to at least 150 ABM Graduating students in Senior High of Our Lady of
Fatima University - QC S/Y 2022-2023 who will present the population.

ABM Graduates to work Employment from Our Lady of Fatima University. Each of the
respondents have been given the same questionnaires through google form. The result
of this study will only affect the respondents and will not be used as a measurement to
the effect of advantages of shs abm graduates who do not belong to the population of
the study. The main idea to be inputted in this study comes from the questionnaires
given and made by the researchers

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This research would be beneficial to the students of Senior High Accountancy

and Business Management graduating students and upcoming graduating ABM
students in general on what are the advantages of ABM students to employment
possibilities that lie ahead. This study will also help employers on hiring fresh graduate
abm students on how they will give them fair and equal treatment as to other applicants.
This research will also be significant to the teachers because they will become a guide
for their students and they should give their students a career program for their job right
after they graduate. This research will also benefit the parents of the students that will
have an assurance that their child will have a job right after they graduate from Our
Lady of Fatima University, one of the most significant benefits of knowing that your child
will get a job after graduating is the financial security it provides. You can rest assured
that your child will be able to support themselves and may not have to rely on you
financially.

CHAPTER 2

Review of Foreign and Local Literature

FOREIGN LITERATURE

A study by Park et.al (2020) in South Korea found that senior high school
students who took courses in business and management (such as those in the ABM
strand) were better prepared for the demands of the job market than those who did not.
The study showed that students who took business and management courses had
higher levels of critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills
than those who did not.

Similarly, a study by Sharma et.al (2019) in India found that students who took business
courses had a higher likelihood of finding employment after graduation. The study found
that students who had developed these skills through their studies were more
competitive in the job market and had better job prospects than those who did not.

These studies suggest that taking business courses, such as those in the ABM strand,
can provide students with valuable skills that can lead to better employment
opportunities. As the job market in the Philippines becomes increasingly competitive, it
is important for senior high school graduates to have a competitive edge. By developing
skills in business and management, graduates of Our Lady of Fatima University's ABM
strand may have an advantage when seeking employment in fields such as finance,
accounting, and marketing.

LOCAL LITERATURE

According to the article (Aniceto C. Orbeta et al., on the employability of the

senior high school graduates: evidence from the labor force survey, Dec 2020) , the
K–12 program's core component was created to cover each of the three
escapes—towards additional learning, middle-level skills, and career. Those outcomes
support preparing SHS graduates for job opportunities in addition to developing them for
further education. Only 20% of the country's foundation 70 organizations are willing to
hire SHS recent graduates, findings from an analysis conducted in 2018 by the
Philippine Business for Educational Affairs. A report distributed on Tuesday, the 26th of
February, companies that haven't been yet geared up to hire K–12 graduates
referenced a lack of openings for pseudo–college recent graduates and their lack of
appropriate work experience as among the primary considerations in the decisions they
made, while individuals who weren't yet ready to make a decision said they had to
choose between assessing their companies’ eagerness or still concluding their
schedules for when they were going to employ K–12 graduates.
For instance, they need to do research on the educational curriculum. Perhaps the
courses that are taught to SHS learners have become outdated or not in line with the
requirements of the industry. The pace of development in various businesses can
frequently be greater than that of academic instruction.

Perhaps the departments of education can implement a similar program in collaboration

with industry to guarantee that SHS graduates have been employable. This does not
merely imply gatherings, but rather particular initiatives that will provide opportunity to
those who graduated from SHS and make them stronger candidates for career.
Similarly, enterprises ought to make themselves more open to SHS graduates by
providing more chances. Some jobs that do not require an undergraduate degree are
available to SHS graduates.

A shift in perception of SHS graduates is also required. Students should not be

regarded less than graduates from universities. Some are only able to graduate from
SHS due to constraints such as a lack of financial materials. There should be
possibilities that allow them to move up both the academic and professional ladders at
the precise same time.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
In this conceptual framework, the independent variable is the ABM Graduates, and the
dependent variable is the Work Opportunity. This is a representation of the relationship
between the ABM Graduates and Work Opportunity. The independent variables have
many properties or characteristics that have a relationship with the Work Opportunity.
The ABM Graduates includes knowledge and skills, accounting, management, and
business, while Work Opportunity includes qualified jobs, flexibility, and public/private
organizations. This illustrates the variables that the researchers will study. This provides
an orientation to the study and assists both the researcher and the reader in seeing how
the study contributes to the body of knowledge on the topic.

RESEARCH PARADIGM

Research paradigm based on the input-process-output (IPO) model shows the inputs

opportunities for Senior High School graduates.

Research Locale

The study will be conducted within the area specifically targeting SHS ABM graduates
of the institution. The selection as the research site was based on its large population of
SHS ABM graduates, which provided a large number of respondents for the study. The
study will use a mixed-methods approach, Qualitative research methods include focus
group discussions (FGDs) and interviews with Senior High Accountancy and Business
Management and other courses graduate students to gather deep insight into the
advantages of SHS ABM graduates to work. for job opportunities.

Meanwhile, quantitative research methods will involve the distribution of questionnaires

to a larger sample of SHS ABM graduates and employers within and outside the
university. It will gather statistical data on their views and experiences on the subject, as
well as the perceived benefits and capabilities of SHS ABM graduates compared to
other institutions. The study will also focus on the employment opportunities available to
SHS ABM graduates including the industries and sectors that offer the most
employment opportunities.

Overall, it provides a good research area for this study because of the large population
of SHS ABM graduates, which provides a significant sample for the study. Besides this,

The study will provide important insights to the institution on the effectiveness of its
ABM program in preparing its graduates for employment.

Research Subject

Senior high graduates that took the strand of Accountancy and Business
Management are the respondents of this study. ABM graduates pursued different jobs
and professions. Our whole group generated a set of questions for the participants to
answer about the Work Employment Opportunity that they have when they graduate
from ABM. Before we conduct the survey, we ask for the respondents' consent that they
are willing to answer our survey.

Addition, Since the respondents in this study reflect a particular objective, Purposive
sampling was used. Purposive Sampling is a non-probability sampling technique in
which units are selected because they have characteristics that you need in your study.
In other words, units are selected “on purpose”. In this study, the subjects were chosen
according to the criteria that they are SHS ABM graduates that are imposed by the
researchers. Accordingly, It is apparent that purposive sampling is performed.

Research Ethics
Understanding real-life incidents while exploring prosperous therapies,
assessing habits, and enhancing people's lives are all common objectives of human
studies. What you choose to investigate along with how you perform that research are
both important ethical issues.

hypothesis is useful to society, it cannot excuse abusing your study subjects' rights to
privacy or dignity.

Research Instrument

The researchers utilized a Google form to inquire from participants about the
extent to which SHS ABM graduates are prepared for employment immediately
following graduation.

The investigators employed the online survey form in order to ensure the validity of their
research. The use of an online survey form was a wise choice by the investigators, as it
allowed for a more efficient and effective means of data collection. By utilizing an online
platform, participants were able to complete the survey at their own convenience,
eliminating the need for in-person interviews or paper surveys. This not only saved time
and resources but also increased the likelihood of participation. The validity of the
research was further ensured by incorporating various measures such as randomized
questions and response options, clear instructions, and attention checks to prevent
careless responses. The online survey form also allowed for easy data management
and analysis, with results being automatically compiled and organized for further
examination. Overall, the use of an online survey form proved to be a valuable tool in
conducting this research, ensuring both accuracy and efficiency in data
collection.

the researcher multiplied it to the number of copies sufficient to accommodate all the
respondents to the Google Form Online Survey. At the same time we conducted a
survey with a minimum of 30 students participants of Our Lady Of Fatima University
Quezon City Grade 12 Students. used to evaluate different aspects of life when it is
possible to grade or analyze statistical data and analysis, not just education quality.
Additionally, including quantitative research in the curriculum could enhance students'
learning and help them become better at using statistics to comprehend certain ideas.
Additionally, quantitative research is important in both the commercial and educational
sectors.

CHAPTER 5

CONCLUSION

This research study aimed to evaluate the employment chances and

advantages for Senior High School (SHS) graduates with the Accountancy, Business,
and Management (ABM) strand in the job market. The objective was to identify the
benefits experienced by ABM graduates and to understand their motivations for seeking
employment right after graduating. The research utilized a descriptive-correlational
method, with data collected through an online survey administered to a purposive
sample of 200 ABM SHS graduates. Through an extensive review of literature and a
comprehensive analysis of primary data, several key findings have emerged.

Firstly, it was evident that Senior High ABM graduates possess a solid foundation in
business and financial concepts, thanks to the specialized curriculum they undergo
during their two years of study. This knowledge equips them with the necessary skills
and competencies that are highly valued in the employment market. Their exposure to
subjects such as accounting, economics, business management, and entrepreneurship
enables them to understand the complexities of the business world and adapt quickly to
workplace demands.

Secondly, the research findings highlighted that Senior High ABM graduates exhibit
strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum emphasizes critical
thinking, quantitative analysis, and decision-making skills, which are essential in various
professional settings. These graduates are adept at interpreting financial data,
conducting market research, and formulating effective business strategies. Such skills
enable them to contribute significantly to the growth and success of organizations.
Additionally, the research findings revealed that Senior High ABM graduates
demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The curriculum places
emphasis on written and oral communication, teamwork, and leadership development.
As a result, these graduates possess the ability to effectively communicate ideas,
negotiate, and collaborate with colleagues and clients. Their strong interpersonal skills
allow them to build and maintain relationships, which are crucial in today's
interconnected business environment.

The findings from the survey indicated several advantages that ABM graduates have in
the employment sector. These advantages include the longer immersion hours they
