NARRATIVE AND PICTORIAL REPORT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
BR-B4 PROGRAM
S.Y. 2022-2023
I. INTRODUCTION
Reading interventions are activities and strategies that help struggling
readers develop their ability to read. Struggling readers can be students who
are not able to decode, or break up, words into syllables.
Barangayan para sa Bawat Bata Bumabasa (BR-B4) Program is a
reading advocacy initiated by the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Rizal. It is
a Barangay-based program that intends to promote literacy among Rizaleňo
children with community people as lead players.
II. OBJECTIVES
The BR-B4 aims to:
Make Rizal a reading province.
Promote family literacy across Rizal by enhancing parents’ and / or
guardians’ involvement.
Develop learners who are readers and the grade level.
Hone productive individuals who will become assets of society and
country at large.
Increase the number of BR-B4 partners (Reading Warriors and support
group)
Reduce the number of non-reader.
Reduce the number of frustrated readers.
III. PRE-IMPLEMENTATION
In compliance to DepEd Memorandum No. 173, s. 2019, entitled Hamon:
Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs Initiative), Division Memorandum No. 414, s. 2020 and
Division Memorandum No. 422, s. 2021, entitled Resumption of BR-B4
Implementation Monitoring, Malalim Elementary School, Mrs. Marivic C. Velasco,
Principal I together with Mrs. Babylyn B. Cruz and Mr. Alvin Abcede, BR-B4
Coordinators, initiated the BR-B4 Project.
