SCOPE
 This method statement covers all requirements for BMU maintenance

PURPOSE
 To establish a detailed method describing how perform the BMU maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITY
 Field engineer has a direct responsibility for maintenance of BMU
 Safety officer has direct responsibility for implementation of all safety function

GENERAL
 All equipment’s shall be handled carefully to prevent from damage and deformation
 All necessary materials for site shall be carefully transported/handled so as to prevent
from any damage
 All materials shall be stored in clean and dry place

 Limit switch
 Emergency stopper

Procedure

 Isolate every energized parts


 Remove all connections to the equipment
 Identify the damaged or defective part
 Remove the damaged or defective part
 Install the new one
 Reconnect all the connections to the specified terminals

LUBRICATION, GREASING & CONUMBLES


Equipment

 BMU & Cradel


 Mono rail trolly
 Mono rail track
 Steel wire roop
Procedure

 Barricade the working space


 Isolate every energized parts
 Open the casing of equipment
 Check the lubricant or grease inside
 Remove and clean old lubricant and grease with terfin oil
 Fill with new lubricant and grease
 Close the casing

 Barricade the working space


 Isolate every energized parts
 Check every connections to the machine
 Check every movement of machine

 Clean cable winder


 Check emergency breaking
 Open the motor enclosure and check wire guide condition

SAFETY
All personal who are engaged in the erection activities shall follow safety rules and they
will use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) like helmet, safety shoes, eye
protection safety glass until the erection works are completed. As a safety precaution a safety
officer and first aid kit shall be standby and ready at site during working hours.
