Chromebook Cover pattern
What you will need
● Cotton fabric, a fun print is best (at least ½ Fabric sizes
yard) ● 20" x 14” (cut two from fabric, one from
● Fusible fleece (batting if not fusible fleece) fusible fleece)
● 1 coordinated snap set ● 6” x 2" (cut 2 from fabric, 1 from fusible
● Thread, machine, scissors fleece) for strap
Instructions:
1. For outer fabric, put the right sides of cotton fabric together (RST). Pin
pattern (which is 10” x 14” with a FOLD SYMBOL) to fabric FOLD and cut
around 3 edges. DO the same for the inner fabric. Complete again for 1
piece of fusible fleece the same size -->
2. Lay inner and outer fabric flat (not folded) on top of each other. Pin strap
pattern (6” x 2”) to doubled fabric and cut two. Then cut 1 piece, the
same size, from fusible fleece.

3. Iron the fusible fleece (bubble side down) to the WRONG SIDE OF one
piece of THE FABRIC (for both the main piece and the strap) -->
4. Starting with the main piece, fold the piece in half width-wise RST, so it
remains 14” tall. Pin! Sew a ⅜” seam along the long edge and the bottom
(pick a short edge, but make sure to pivot in the corner and backstitch to
reinforce the seam) Note: if your fabric is directional, make sure you place to
the TOP (the open part) coordinating with the fabric design. Turn this piece
RIGHT SIDE OUT!
5. Pick up the other main piece (that has NO fusible fleece). Fold it in half
width-wise, RST, so it remains 14” tall. Pin! Sew a ⅜” seam along the long
edge and the bottom--BUT make sure you leave a 3-4” opening on the
bottom in order to turn your project. --->

6. Layer your strap pieces in the following
order- 1st piece is wrong side DOWN, 2nd
piece is wrong side UP (so the pieces are
right sides together), 3rd is the fusible
fleece. Iron your fleece down. Pin. Starting
on a long side, sew a ¼ seam around 3
edges (leaving one SHORT end open).
Remember to backstitch. Turn this piece
right side out, iron.
Strap checkpoint __________
7. With the main piece RIGHT SIDE OUT, place the strap (right side
out) opening towards the top, then pin. Sew the strap to just ONE side of the
main piece (right sides together) just to attach it).
8. Take the piece that has the strap attached to it. Place it inside of
the other main large piece (that is currently WRONG SIDE
OUT- which will place right sides together). Pin around the
opening. Sew around the opening- DO NOT CLOSE THE
ENTIRE SLEEVE SHUT- and backstitch.
9. Through the opening on the bottom of the cover, pull the inner
layer out and then all the other pieces in order to get all the
RIGHT SIDES OUT. Before you tuck the inner layer (without
the interfacing) into the bag, pin the opening shut- making sure ALL RAW
EDGES are hidden, top stitch across the opening. Slide the inner sleeve in
and push to the corners.

10. Top Stitch your bag by sewing just along the TOP edges, all the way around,
not sewing your strap down.
