Astm F788 F788M 1997

This document is a standard specification for allowable surface discontinuities on bolts, screws, and studs. It establishes limits for cracks, bursts, seams, and other defects that may occur during manufacturing. The specification covers both metric and inch-sized fasteners with minimum diameters and tensile strengths. It defines types of discontinuities like cracks, bursts, and seams and shows examples. Ordering of fasteners must specify conformance to this standard and any special discontinuity limits required.
