INTRODUCTION
Faith indeed comes by the Spirit, yet faith is a gift but it must be cultivated and sought
after, until it grows from a tiny seed to a great tree. The for in this sermon I will be
describing things that we can do to develop and make our faith in the lord strong and
not easily shakable.
Hebrew 11:6 (NKJ),” Without faith it is impossible to receive anything from the lord.”
The importance of faith
We cannot live a healthy life without faith.
We cannot prosper without faith.
We cannot be saved without faith.
We cannot go to heaven without faith.
We cannot receive grace without faith
Matthew 21:21 (NKJ),” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if
you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree,
but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be
done.”

READING THE BIBLE
Second Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJ),” All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
What you read impacts you. Reading the Bible on a regular and consistent basis has
several benefits.
HEARING THE WORD OF GOD
Romans 10:17 (NKJ),” So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Faith Comes by Hearing the Word of God. The first concepts of faith in Jesus Christ
come by hearing the word of God.

GATHERING WITH OTHER PEOPLE
Matthew 18:20 (NKJ),” For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am
there in the midst of them.”
Gathering with other people who share your faith ensure that you don't feed our faith
with a diet of magazines and television, things that doesn't strengthen your faith.
PRAY TO GOD
Luke 17:5(NKJ),” And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
Make time each day to Pray to God. As the apostles did ask God to increase your faith
and for forgiveness and confess your faith.
BE BAPTIZED
Acts 2:38 (NKJ),” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit.”
Be baptized as a symbolical commitment to your new life in God. Baptism is a ceremony
in which a person is submerged under water, then raised up again. It symbolizes the
death of their old self and the rebirth of their new life in God.

TURN TO JESUS
Peter 5:7 (NKJ),“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
Turn to Jesus for your strength in hard times (but also in good times).
BELIEVED IN SPITE OF THE FACTS
Hebrews 11:8(NKJ), “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later
receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was
going.”
Do not lose hope in spite of the facts.
Do not give up believing in God’s promise
BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS GOD'S SON
john 14:6(NKJ), “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes
to the father except through me."
Believe that Jesus is God's son who was sent as a sacrifice. The Bible says that Jesus was a
”
man who was killed for his radical teachings about God.
