EBS Fault Codes

This document from Volvo Truck Corporation provides service tips for technicians regarding an EBS lining wear fault code appearing in some FM, FH, 6X4, 8X4, and 8X2 models with disc brakes using EBS generation 2. The fault code was showing uneven wear between different axles instead of left and right sides on each axle, which was due to a software mistake by the supplier. EBS Lining wear fault code


Concerns:
FM, FH, 6X4, 8X4, 8X2 with disc brakes.
Only EBS generation 2.

Problem:
MID 136, PSID 27, FMI 7.
Uneven wear shows between different axles instead of between left and right side on
each axle.

Reason:
A mistake in the software by the supplier.

Action:
1. Update the VCADS computer.
2. Change parameter GFK, under MID 136, to 100%. This will delete this function and
the fault code.
