In accordance with DepEd Order No. 21 and Republic Act No. 101021,
re:Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, s.
Disaster Risk Reduction and the Year 2015.All schools are instructed to
organize or reconstitute their School Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management (SDRRM) Committee in order to lead the conduct of
Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. Programs,
projects, and activities in their individual schools that are related to
(DRR/CCA)The SDRRM Team must adhere to the DepEd's DRRM
Framework, which includes the four DRRM Thematic Areas of
Prevention and Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and
Rehabilitation (DepEd Order 37, s. 2015). For information and
direction, please refer to the Information Management Protocol and the
proposed Roles and Functions of the School DRRM Team Composition that
are included. (As stated by Mark Anthony Llego in TeacherPh).
Being the designated School disaster risk reduction and
Management focal person and Coordinator, it is my responsibility to carry
out with the promise of successful and productive results. The plans listed
in my action plan, and to adhere to the rules, obligations and duties of a
School DRRM Coordinator.
One of the activities or top priorities to be done this school year was
to update then DRRM Information Wall. This initiative was made in
response to the growing need for increased disaster preparedness among
schools. The safety of schools is important and DRRM Info Wall aims at

reducing the vulnerability to, and impact of disasters in schools. It prepares

both teachers and students for potential disaster. If the students can then
transfer the knowledge to members of families, it becomes general
knowledge and community can prepare as well. This was established
through the School’s Maintenance and other Operating Expenses under the
supervision of our school head.
