John is the disciple the author most admires and can relate to personally. Like John, the author aims to have a deep, intimate relationship with God and always wants to be present at God's work. The author's aunt, who was a pastor and preschool teacher, and other aunt mentored the author from a young age. They brought the author to church activities and outreaches, exposing them to God from an early age. The author's youth leader also pushed them out of their timid nature and encouraged them to use their abilities to glorify God without fear of judgment. These mentors helped shape the author spiritually.

Module 5: The Calling of the Disciples
Instruction:
A. Answer the following questions. (20 points)
1. Among the 12 disciples of Jesus, which of them would you like to emulate? Who
among them can you relate personally?

John is the disciple that I really admire. John was known to be the “disciple whom Jesus
loved." This suggests a deep and intimate connection between John and Jesus. As a child
of God, I also aim to have a deep relationship to God. And some of bible scholars said
that most the events in Jesus’ life John was present. I much as I want to serve God, I
always want to be present in all crusades, service and fellowship it is my way of serving
God and also work on my personal relationship to God.

2. Who is/are the person/s whom you consider your mentor/discipler? The one who has
molded you to be who you are today. State examples of how that person has impacted
your life. (It should be a living person whom you have met in the past or in the present.)

Growing up, my parents will leave me at my aunt and I was thankful that my parents left
me to her. She was a pastor and a preschool teacher of Iloilo King of Glory Christian
Academy Inc. and living at the parsonage of the church. I have been living with her since
I was a nursery student up to grade 8. Together with my other aunt they will bring me as a
company to all the outreaches, service, island fellowship and missions so ever since I was
not innocent about God and that’s what I am thanking God for, for giving me the people
who will help me in my spiritual journey. In addition to my mentors are my youth leader
who always pushes me to do the things that I can’t imagine that I can do. I was a timid
girl growing up but by their help every time I was in the church, mission or outreach I am
confident because they always assure me that I can do it all to the glory of God. And that
I am not doing to the people so I shouldn’t be afraid of judgement.
