Exam Pattern
Let us look at the Exam Pattern first and then we will discuss about the changes introduced in this year.

Prelims:

This year SSC introduced a major change in the Preliminary as well as Mains Exam and the Major change SSC
introduced is Normalization in the preliminary exam as well. 60 Minutes have been allotted for the Paper. i.e
Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Awareness.

SSC CGL Mains Examination is scheduled tentatively in the month of Jan/ Feb.

SSC CGL Tier II:

Step- wise Preparation Strategy

 Step 1 - It is very important to have a proper plan for each and every section as you are going to spend
specific allotted time on each section. So, First attempt General Awareness Section. You have to finish
this section within 5-6 minutes.
 Step 2 - After General Awareness Section, attempt English Section. You can easily do GA and English,
but you should save at least half an hour for Quant. So, now it becomes important to utilize that time
properly and score good marks in all the subjects. Don’t spend more than 10 minutes for English.
 Step 3 – You can go for the reasoning Section in third step. In number series, you might get stuck while
attempting the Paper. So, first target the question in which you are strong and confident. Try to finish
this section in 15 minutes, so that you save enough time for Quant. Try to save 25-30 min for Quant
section.

 Step 4 – At last attempt Quant Section. If you get stuck in any question, don’t waste time on that, move
to the next one and then if you have some spare time in the end then reattempt that particular question.
 Time plays an important role in competitive exam so, it is important that you should be in the habit of
doing small calculations and some topics of reasoning and Quant should be in mind only.

Note:

Quantitative Section:

In the first 30 days, you have to prepare Quant Arithmetic Chapterwise. And Advance mathematics will be
covered in the next 30 days. In the last fifteen days you have to focus on revision. One has to give Online mock
in every two days. Apart from this the sectional test should be given on daily basis.

English:

In the first 30 days, try to finish all grammar chapters and their Chapterwise Questions. In the next 30 days ,
start preparing for the topics asked in SSC CGL. And revision in the last 15 days.

Reasoning Section:

In the first 30 days you have to do all chapters on daily basis. In the next 30 days you can revise if you need so.
Otherwise you can skip revision. In the last 15 days you can go for topic wise mock tests.

General Awareness:

You have to study all subjects in the General awareness section. It might take you 30-60 days for complete
preparation. It depends on person to person. Keep the last 15 days for revision Purpose.
