Students are asked to draw their proposed sustainable long-term plan of action and then provide a detailed explanation and persuasive statement calling others to help care for the Earth, which Pope Francis calls our "common home." The plan will be graded based on the appropriateness and comprehensive presentation of the proposed plan, as well as neatness, creativity, and punctuality.

Global Warming, as defined in Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is “an increase in

the Earth’s atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to
an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution.” This
phenomenon is due to the misuse and overuse of burning fossil fuels (e.g. coals,
petroleum, and natural gas) which cause greenhouse gas emissions that envelope
the Earth’s ozone layer. Also due to this misusage, the Earth is experiencing the
phenomenon called Climate Change which is a significant and long-lasting change
in the Earth’s climate and weather patterns that led to the altering of seasons in
most parts of the globe.
Pope Francis, in his encyclical letter Laudato Si: On the Care of our Common
Home, is requesting everyone to become stewards of our Mother Earth which he
calls our Common Home. On the said encyclical letter, Pope Francis reminds us that
our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life, and a beautiful
mother who opens her arms to embrace us, thus, we need to protect and value her.
As a good citizen of our society and in solidarity with the Catholic Church’s call
to care, protect, and preserve our Common Home, you are to propose an
Environmental Community Action Plan to help combat Climate Change and Global
Warming.

Instructions: (Use a long bond paper only.)

1. In a portrait orientation, draw your proposed sustainable long-term plan of
action to combat the said phenomena of Global Warming and Climate Change.

a persuasive statement which calls everyone to help care, protect, and
preserve our common home.
