MEASURES REPEAT
CHORD SIGN
Here’s what all this means:
These chord progression diagrams are showing measures of the music
& what chord is being played in which measure as the backing track
progresses from left to right through the chord progression.
In every one of these chord progressions, every measure contains 4
beats. So in this example the A chord is being played for 4 beats in the
rst measure, and then for 4 more beats in the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th measures.
It stays on the same chord until a new chord is labeled in a measure. So
the A chord is being played for 4 measures of 4 beats each. Then it
changes to the E chord for 4 measures. Then to the F♯ chord for 4
measures, and then the D chord for 4 measures.
At the end of the progression is a repeat sign ( :|| ) that means to go all
the way back to the beginning or to the rst repeat sign ( ||: ) & play
through it again. Each backing track will repeat the same chord
progression multiple times.
