Oracle Database Developer: Job Ref: AOU-IT-2-2021

Responsibilities:

• Provides programming in PL/SQL in the Oracle database and applications and maintains
the server-side components of the central database.
• Participates in the analysis and development of complex database designs, data models
and relational data definitions in support of the university enterprise information
system requirements.
• Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, maintains data relationships
and attributes and data output and reporting capabilities.
• Perform system upgrades and maintenances according to the business needs.
• Performs data migration, consolidation and integration with Oracle and non-Oracle
databases.
• Maintains code versions using code versioning and Release Management tools and
processes.
• Creates advanced reports on the Oracle database using different reporting tools like
XML publisher, crystal reports, apex, etc.
• Supports the creation of data visualization, dashboards reports from the university
Database and data Warehouse using analytics tools.
• Provides support and recommendations to the development teams accessing the Oracle
database.
• Analyze the performance of the university database and perform optimizations and
tuning as required to enhance the system performance.
• Provide developers and users with appropriate level of database access and
permissions.
• Documents the database design using visualization tools.
• Coordinates changes with the development and testing teams.
• Test the system features fully before going to production.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/skills:

• Bachelor's degree of Information management System or equivalent.


• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle and MS SQL databases.
• Strong knowledge in and database integration tools and web services.
• An excellent background in system analysis and data modeling concepts.
• Good knowledge of programming tools, methods, platforms, and operating systems.
• Good knowledge in Business intelligence and data warehouse tools and applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve application
issues in a timely manner.
• Good experience in Agile software development methodology.
