to prepare for the birthday party her son, Alvin.
1. She baked 12 oatmeal cookies, 9 chocolate
cookies, 6 sugar cookies and 10 muffins. How
many cookies were there?
2. Mrs. Brandon made 25 soft tacos, 16 slices of
cheese pizza, 8 slices of pizza with pepperoni, 4
slices of pizza with mushroom and 12 slices of
pizza with onions and olives. How many slices of
pizza did she make?
3. There were 5 glasses of orange juice in the fridge.
Mrs. Brandon made 7 more glasses of orange
juice, 10 glasses of apple juice, 8 glasses of
grapefruit juice and 5 glasses of
watermelon juice. How many glasses
of juice were there in total?

4. Mrs. Brandon made a cake that weighed 16
ounces and she put 7 ounces of frosting on top
of the cake. At the end, she added 8 ounces of
gummy bear to decorate the cake. How much
did the cake weigh?
5. Mrs. Brandon bought 11 bags of potato chips, 3
bags of popcorn, 4 bags of chocolate bars, 9
bags of candies and 12 bags of corn chips. How
many bags of snacks did she buy?
6. Write the addition sentence that fits this: “Alvin
invited 14 friends from school. Four of his cousins
and his three younger sisters were also at the
party. There were 22 children (including Alvin) in
total at the party.”
