MISSING
INT. KYLE’S ROOM – DAY
KYLE, JACK and MICHAEL are relaxing in Kyle’s room. Michael is
reading a book, Jack is scrolling on his phone and Kyle is
throwing a ball at the wall when suddenly Michael receives a
call from Noah’s mother. Michael stands up, walks to the
ringing phone and picks it up.
NOAH’S MOTHER
Hi Michael, I was just wondering if Noah was with you?
MICHAEL
We haven’t seen him since yesterday.
NOAH’S MOTHER
Oh okay, he must be with his Dad.
Noah puts the phone back down and glances over at his two
friends who are staring at him.
KYLE
Noah never visits his dad? He hates him.
JACK
Yeah, something doesn’t seem right about this…
Kyle pulls out his phone and goes to his messages with Noah.
Multiple texts from Noah appear such as: ‘please answer’, ‘I
need help’ and ‘I am being followed’.
MICHAEL
Shit. He sent me these messages last night. What do we
do?
KYLE
We find who took him and beat him to death.
JACK
Slow down buckaroo, we have to come up with a plan.
MICHAEL
Okay, lets follow his walk home from school.
EXT. OUTSIDE THE FOREST – DAY
Kyle, Jack and Michael leave the room, leave the front door
and head into the forest where Noah usually walks home from
school.
MICHAEL
Alright, look out for any clues or anything unusual that
might tell where Noah could be.
The dense forest towers over the three characters as they
desperately search for clues.
JACK
Look, are those Jacks footsteps?
MICHAEL
They must be.
Michael and Kyle continue walking while Jack lag behind. Jack
hears a sudden rustle in the bush behind him. He swiftly turns
to face it. CLOSE UP shot of Jack slowly moving towards the bush
to figure out what made the sound.
Camera shifts to the behind the bush and reveals a dark figure
(THE JANITOR) lurking behind the bush staring at Jack. OVER THE
SHOULDER SHOT of the dark figure looking at Jack as Jack slowly
moves towards it. The MUSIC builds tension the closer Jack gets.
Just as Jack is about to reveal what is behind the bush, he
hears a call from behind him.
KYLE
Jack what’s taking you so long, hurry up!
JACK
Coming!
Jack runs after Kyle and Michael leaving the figure behind,
seconds away from see it.
Shot of Jack, Kyle and Michael walking up the hill while
following the trail of the footsteps. The footsteps lead up to
an abandoned college campus.
MICHAEL
The abandoned college campus… why would Noah come here?
JACK
I heard this place was haunted.
KYLE
I don’t know, but let’s check it out.
EXT. ABANDONDED COLLEGE CAMPUS
The three characters: Kyle, Jack and Michael walk up into the
eerie college campus. They look around for a bit until Michael
suggests something.
MICHAEL
Let’s split up. Better chance to find clues about Noah’s
whereabouts if we do that.
KYLE
Okay, me and Jack will check out the classrooms, and you
check out the locker rooms.
MICHAEL
Okay, meet back here in half an hour.
Michael, Kyle and Jack split ways and start walking in opposite
directions. Camera shifts focus to only Michael who walks
towards the abandoned locker rooms while thoroughly checking his
surroundings to look out for any clues. Michael opens the door
and enters the locker rooms.
INT. LOCKER ROOM
Michael cautiously enters the locker rooms to look for clues.
MICHAEL
Noah?
Michael desperately calls out for Noah’s name hoping to hear a
response.
MICHAEL
Noah? Are you here?
No response. Michael continues his way through the overgrown
depths of the locker rooms.
SOUND: BANG
A loud bang from behind Michael sounds. Michael swiftly turn
around revealing a locker door moving by itself. Michael
whispers under his breath.
MICHAEL
What the hell. Noah?
Michael stammers towards the locker and opens its. Michael jumps
out of his skin. A bird fly’s straight past him and out of the
door. Michael lets out a great sigh of relief. He continues on
and into the old Janitors office. Something seems off as the
office seems used with paper scrawled everywhere and half eaten
food left in the bin. Michael starts to inspect the papers and
realises they are pictures of local teenagers in the area they
live in.
