1. How do economic forces facilitate the deepening of globalization?

Globalization has stimulated world economic growth by facilitating the flow of goods and
capital.

2. How is the Philippines central to the history of economic globalization?

Philippines became a net food importer under GATT and the globalization began on the
country shores.

3. Compare and contrast the assumptions of the original Bretton Woods System with those of
the Washington Concensus.

Bretton wood system is the gold standard as it compelled countries back to their currencies
with fixed gold reserves while Washington concensus pressured government to reduce tariffs
and open up their economies.

institution (banks, fast-food chains, mall, etc.) you have chosen; (b) map the international connections
it has created; (c) identify the major country-leaders of this institution; and (d) locate the Philippines
in this map of interconnections.

Then answer this question: How does this institution influence global economic activity? How does it
affect economics in the Philippines?

Fast food chains lead globalization to an increase in large multinational supermarkets. Fast food
chains affects Philippine economy by improved purchasing power even higher frequency of spending on
food.
