Project 2: APA Manual for General format, Citations & References

For the second project, you are required to implement the APA 7th edition guidelines
on the following four sections. The project should be written in the same language you
will use to write your thesis. The examples you provide should align with your
specialty. The project must be submitted before 15/11/2021.

Section one: General Guideline

The APA divides the research outcome into four main sections. Describe each section
with its guidelines , as well as the general layout.

Section two: In-text citations

Citations should be used whenever another individual’s work is included in your


thesis/dissertation. What is required from you in this section is to describe the structure
of an APA format citation for quotations and paraphrasing. In specific, describe how
the two formats are used in:

o Narrative citation.
o Parenthetical citation.
This description should include the structure for one author, two authors, and three
authors or more, and Organization. Clarify when to use the page or paragraph number.

Section three: Results

In this section, we will only cover the guidelines of the APA in tables and figures, as
well as statistical result reporting.

• Table and Figure

Describe the APA style for tables and figures. For the tables, the description should
cover: number, title, heading, body, note, border, spacing, long and wide, and
placement. As for the figures, describe the common forms used in your discipline, as
well as the format of: number, title, legend, note, and placement.
Provide some examples of tables and figures from your area of research that comply
with the guidelines of the American Psychological Association.

• Result’s reporting
This section is about how to report statistical results. Re-report results of previous
research that have used to the following statistical tests using APA style.
- Pearson correlation coefficient.
- Independent sample t-test .
- Mann–Whitney U test.

Section four: References

Describe the layout of the references page (title, ordering, indenting, location, and line
Spacing). In each type of the following references, describe the structure and provide
an example from your specialty.

Journal articles

• Journal articles in print


• Journal articles online (with/without DOI)

Books
• Print books with one author
• Print books with two or more authors
• Full versions of E-books

Website
• Citing a website
• Citing a social media (Facebook posts/Twitter posts/ Instagram posts)
