1. Why is data an important asset in an organization?

Data is an important asset especially when it is obtained and transformed because it helps an organization determine
what happened, why it happened, what would likely happen next, and what should be done next. With the help of the
data value chain, it enables the organization to make wise business decisions and solve problems that exist after it has
been identified. Data also helps the organization receive learnings after extracting the value that data contains and
interpreting it.

2. Compare the framework for business analytics and data value chain.

The framework of the data value chain emphasizes the creation of data and its source which then is consolidated to a
single repository and answer the question, “what happened”? Information is then transformed to insights and identify
trends or patterns from the stored data and answer the question, “why did it happen? What would happen next”? And
finally, data is transformed into imperatives which helps the organization answer the question, “what should be done
next”? As for business analytics, its framework lets organizations study the data through statistical and operations
analysis and create solutions that contributes to decision making.

3. What are the advantages of performing the different types of analytics in an organization?

It helps the organization effectively gain insight into business practices and customer behaviors, for instance depending
on the type of situation. Whenever there are changes in the business environment or within the organization, different
types of analytics let organizations adapt to these changes and effectively solve any obstacles that they may face.
Efficiency is also applied when using a type of analytics that is proper for a particular scenario.
