Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2007 “Revised Implementing Guidelines on
the Operation and Management of School Canteens in Public Elementary and
Secondary Schools”, and DepEd Order No. 13, s. 2017 “Policy Guidelines on
Healthy Food and Beverages Choices in Schools and DepEd Offices”, this Office
announces the conduct of abovementioned activity within the current school
year.
The objective of this monitoring activity are as follows:
@. ensure that the school canteen actively contributes to the
elimination of nutritional deficiencies and the promotion of
desirable healthy eating habits for both students and teaching/non-
teaching personnel;
b. validate transparency and accountability in reporting and
accounting of proceeds from the school canteen management and
operations;
. ensure adherence to standards on quality, handling and serving of
food in the school canteen and that food safety standards and
hygienic practices are strictly observed and implemented;
4. provide guidance and technical assistance in integrating DepEd
policies and guidelines in the school canteen management.
The school canteen monitoring team comprised of the Education Program
Supervisor for SGOD, Public District Supervisors, School Health & Nutrition
Unit Personnel and the School Management, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit
Personnel.

the preparation of essential documents, reports, permits, and compliance
records in accordance with the DepEd Orders mentioned above.

for your reference.
